“Declined to seek a security clearance” was simply not a thing before the One Special Boy. You didn’t have a choice about these things. The media did not write those words normalizing illegal things. And then we simply decided nothing - not laws, not norms, not the Constitution - mattered anymore.

EXCLUSIVE: Trump’s closest aide, Natalie Harp, declined multiple times over more than a year to seek a routine security clearance normally obtained by West Wing staffers to work at the White House, sources tell MS NOW.

🧵You can't talk about Natalie Harp w/o talking about how strange she is. This isn't making fun of physique or bearing. It's about obsessive/creepy behavior. And it matters on policy. As a former Republican media consultant, I can tell you that this attack is astonishingly effective w/the public...

A photo of Donald Trump sitting at a desk with national flags on it, seemingly at a meeting in an office. His omnipresent aide, Natalie Harp, is sitting behind him, staring at him with an unnatural smile, her eyes shrouded with pupils not visible.

This is a TERRIBLE argument. To understand why, think of the word “fire,” which has a secondary definition of “to set on fire.” DOJ’s argument is akin to saying that “an objective viewer” of an Instagram post saying “fire Trump” could read it to mean “set Trump on fire.”

It's not in Merriam-Webster, the Oxford English Dictionary, or the American Heritage Dictionary. So what do Trump DOJ prosecutors hang their hat on for "86" meaning "to kill" in Comey's case? The second — not the first — entry in Cassell’s Dictionary of Slang (2nd edition).

Again, I would just like to thank Republicans, MAGA influencers, right-wing media and podcasters for blowing up the Natalie Harp situation a hundred times bigger than it ever would have been without your coordinated fake hissy.

Ballou on Epstein Files Hearing: There were just long periods of silence in the courtroom as the DOJ struggled to articulate why it couldn’t follow the law here. I had never really been in a hearing like that, where one side was just silent on their own arguments…
