The FHERITALE stakeholder roundtable also identified six key enabling factors: the fundamental conditions required to strengthen scientific excellence, foster collaboration and accelerate the translation of research into policy and societal impact.

For each challenge identified during the FHERITALE stakeholder meeting roundtable, specific concerns were identified, as well as suggestions for how these challenges might be overcome:

Attendees identified the main limiting factors in the field as standardization of protocols, data interoperability, and validation/regulatory acceptance. Data integration and harmonisation emerged as the main drivers of progress in MNPs research.

The afternoon strategic discussions, moderated by Michele Suman, further strengthened this participatory approach through challenge-card roundtables involving Johanna Bischof, Jessica Catalano, Katherine Santizo, Dimosthenis Sarigiannis and Catherine Simoneau.

The FHERITALE stakeholder meeting also featured a highly interactive high-level round table. Through live polling and active audience participation, the discussion evolved into a dynamic exchange across scientific, technological, regulatory, and infrastructural perspectives.

On May 26th, Sciensano hosted the FHERITALE Stakeholder Meeting in Brussels, focused on strengthening cross-sector synergies among European Research Infrastructures addressing the impact of micro- and nanoplastics.
