Controversial 'Wotsit Street' in Birkenhead to go, council boss says
The traffic calming measures led to ridicule after being compared to the cheesy corn puff snack.

A "serious cyclist" couldn't give a toss about the rest of us. Wilmslow Cycle Lane.
Been out doing Ethels today. It's a Peak District hill list commemorating the work of Ethel Haythornthwaite in founding the National Park. My tiny car dwarfed by Parkhouse Hill.
So today is Saturday 1st August. I have a direct debit set up for vehicle tax. It's due today. But they won't take payment until Monday. So it's untaxed. Very odd... It's parked at home off-road and won't be used but the system seems flawed.
Amused to see a Podpoint van in Macc. All signwritten talking about green charging. But here's the thing; it was an ICE van.
I think I know the answer to this but is it legal to have a downspout draining across a pavement like this? Not great for pedestrians.
Witness angry driver sounding her horn in rage that a pedestrian didn't hear her approaching - in the pedestrian area of Macc and after 11am.

Police out again on Coare Street. CEC needs to get a grip and do something.
"Wilmslow in Bloom" has asked cyclists not to park bikes by their displays. If only Cheshire East put in the bike stands that they have been "studying" for 5 years.

I'm hoping that James is joking, but I'm far from sure.
Recently booked a few nights in a hotel. Booked direct because they offered extras for doing so. Turns out the extras were free parking. Said we were coming by train: no extras for us apparently.
#ClimateEmergency The homemade fudge lady on Bromsgrove market had to cease trading on the hottest days as the heat was damaging the fudge. Climate change has many negative effects - not all are obvious.
Cheshire Police asked rate payers to pay more to fund extra PCSOs. A good PCSO can make a real difference in keeping pavements clear of cars. But despite the extra money, Cheshire Police didn't deliver the promised PCSOs.
Police in Macc spoke to 75 drivers using Coare Street as a shortcut. It included a driving instructor with student on the way to his driving test.

Recently I commented that the removal of VAT on electricity would save me about £2.88 over the year on charging our EV. Doesn't sound like much but it's the equivalent of 226 miles of free driving or nearly three weeks of car use for us.
Driving a car is the single most dangerous thing many people do each day but few folks realize it
I'm uncertain of the circumstances here. Some have suggested she might have been using the new pedestrian crossing across the exit road from Tesco's. This has always seemed a bit poor to me. Not least because the sightlines for drivers are poor. Tributes paid macclesfield.nub.news/news/local-n...

A very odd, largely positive, story about living under the M4. It seems to miss some key points to me. BBC News - I've got a motorway in my garden - it's my shelter in hot weather www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
I have the M4 motorway in my Port Talbot back garden
It was built over people's homes 60 years ago, but what's it like to live in the shadow of the M4?

Bus fares capped at £2. Good news. It was very disappointing when Labour increased the cap to £3.
