My 'Tree of Reason' for my work-in-progress holiday 'Festival of Reason and Enlightenment' celebrating the 16th century European Enlightenment that brought us the scientific revolution, mathematical innovations, individual liberties, natural rights, popular sovereignty, and the US Constitution.

Perhaps an actionable for anxiety about Bluesky's potential ensh*ttification is evolving atproto closer to it's origin principles of decentralization, open-protocols, open-source, diy algorithms, data ownership, and self hosting? Bluesky should be just one of many atproto browsers. #atproto

By 'The Enlightenment' I mean the intellectual revolution launched in 16th century Europe that brought us the scientific method, natural rights, individual liberty, popular sovereignty, and, eventually, the United States Constitution. I think this deserves a holiday. It is a work in progress...

I considered different names for Festival of The Enlightenment. I pondered Festival of Reason or Festival of Rationalism, but Festival of The Enlightenment has more pizzazz. The downside is that it is less clear that it celebrates the flourishing of reason, empiricism, democracy, and natural rights.

Me and my girlfriend saw Lindsey Stirling last night in Phoenix AZ. Wow! That woman is a phenomenon. One of the best shows I've seen in a long while.

The faux olive tree (super cute) that I picked up from Ikea for Festival of The Enlightenment (my own recently invented holiday celebrating the Age of Reason and Enlightenment) doesn't have olives so I made olive ornaments with oven-bake clay and paper clips. They still need to be varnished.

I invented a new holiday for myself called Festival of The Enlightenment celebrating math, science, rationalism, self-determination, philosophy, music, and the arts. The food is vegan and Mediterranean. I picked up this olive tree tonight from Ikea to assemble and decorate with lights and ornaments.

Like most people, I use Bézier Curves all the time. I was curious about this ubiquitous mathematical object, so I built one from scratch using JavaScript, the HTML Canvas Element, and De Casteljau's algorithm. This is from 2018 so no LLMs and also no libraries. #JavaScript #art #design

I made garbonzo bean brownies before bed (right now) so I can have them with coffee tomorrow. The standard is black beans but I felt like experimenting. I also upped the ground flaxseed to increase healthy omega 3s #vegan #plantbased

Me and my beautiful girlfriend enjoyed Desert Oasis Garden After Dark at the Desert Botanical Garden🏜🌵✨️ They keep later hours in the summer so outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the cooler temperatures at night🌜🌴🌌
