Have you heard about the HVO proposal? It is the exact opposite of a just transition for the Hunter Valley - a massive expansion in coal extraction, tying the region into this dying industry with all its negatives to 2040 and beyond. 🧵

2. You may recall that the Port of Newcastle is already the biggest coal exporting port on the planet. This HVO expansion will blow this out even further. It is a climate 💣 If approved it will open up an additional 429 million tonnes of coal, primarily for export.
