Little Grebes try to nest on irrigation ponds near here. Unfortunately when water’s pumped out nests are damaged + chicks abandoned. This chick was lucky. Of course if farms didn’t build reservoirs there would be no habitat in our area for grebes at all! Overall a plus for biodiversity…
