A tornado went through Bartlett tonight, *extremely* close to us. We're okay, everybody I know is okay, but my god that was a very sudden warning. That spinny boy set its ass down right there in Bartlett. We had 2 minutes warning. Trees are down, roof damage to places, scary stuff!

A gouache painting depicting a little astronaut fox who seems to be stranded on whatever planet they've crash landed on. The foreground in the bottom third of the frame consists of a small, bean-shaped fox in their astronaut suit, standing beside their crashed gray and red rocket ship on a small, desolate planet. Only the rear half of the rocket sticking straight up out of the ground, the metal bent and broken. The fox is to the right of the crashed rocket, staring up at it slightly with a stunned, worried expression - expressed only by their round, wide and tired looking eyes. Their spacesuit is a light cream color, and it specially shaped just for them. There is room for their tail, nubs on the helmet for their ears, and the helmet's visor is extended to fit their long snout.

The planet's surface is a bright magenta, and is relatively smooth. It is small enough that you can see the curve of the horizon. It is completely devoid of anything the viewer can see besides the fox and their ship. There is a single, spindly plume of smoke pouring out of the rocket's engine, twisting and extending up into the void of space, drawing the viewer's eye into the deep, dark, green expansiveness. Stars sparsely populate the distant sky, and in the upper-right corner of the frame, there appears to be another distant celestial body. Maybe a moon? Maybe the fox's previous or next destination?

"Finally, some peace and quiet" 💀🦴

A gouache painting of a large, dark, empty room with warm rich brown stone walls and floor, presumably somewhere deep in a cave. The floor is smooth and relatively flat while the walls are very rocky and heavily textured. The floor is split by a very large, sharp, cracked crevasse, the walls of which jut down vertically and suddenly. The crevasse appears to span beyond even the length of the room, and it is filled with a bright foggy blue glow, bright light emanating from within and casting blue light up the walls of the crevasse. There are bright, glowing particles floating up from beneath the fog as well, maybe hinting at some kind of magic flowing like a river below.

The only other thing in the vast emptiness of the cave is a human skeleton, leaned back against the wall casually, hands splayed open on the cave floor, with a half-finished book lying next to their left hand, folded open on the floor. The skeleton's size is dwarfed by the stones in the wall and the crevasse, leading to the room feeling eerily large and otherwise very empty.

"I messed everything up today." 🦌

A gouache painting of an anthropomorphic deer sitting on a park bench, with an enormous, tall, looming figure beside him. The sky is a deep golden yellow with starkly contrasting fuchsia and orange clouds. The grass is a somewhat bluish dark green. The deer looks to be of average size, but the figure behind them is clearly many stories tall, all flat black, with long, slender arms and legs. It also has large deer antlers, and no expression other than tired looking white dot eyes with bags under them. The deer on the bench seems to be intentionally averting their gaze from the figure, clearly anxious at their presence. Long shadows are cast downwards over the ground towards the viewer. The black border of the painting seems to creep and grind upwards from the bottom edge, towards the deer on the bench. Maybe a representation of the sense of inescapable anxiety.

New gouache piece is done! 🐍✨ I got some gold leaf paint and wanted to try it out! It's so shiny and sparkly I tried to get some interesting texture going on in this one, I hope it comes through!

A gouache painting of an expressionist outline of a stripey snake, overlaying an abstract background. The background is comprised of chunky blocks of colors, including warm yellows, oranges, reds, blues, and lilac, with splashes of dark purple. The colors are blocked out into rectangles, lines going in many different directions, and hemispheres with other colors surrounding them. There are also some wiggly lines eluding to the snake theme. Some of the brush strokes have purposefully dragged color out of one area, leaving the new colors speckled with the original ones.

The snake is a bright, sparkly metallic gold, and is comprised of a simple, single-stroke outline, and it winds and twists in a pattern over the canvas so that it does not overlap itself but fills the painting entirely. It has wiggly stripes down its back, and it's tongue and tail are striped as well. It's outline fills the canvas but it does not obscure all of the textures of the background.

My latest painting! 🐮🖌️ I wanted to make something symmetrical that could give a similar effect from either direction. I really like this one and I kind of wish I had done it on canvas tbh. REALLY happy with the colors! [Full individual pictures in reply in case bluesky ruins the quality] ✨

A symmetrical painting of two moons/stars/non-descript celestial bodies, vertically mirrored from one another. Only the closest edge of each moon is visible. One is mainly a deep purple with sharp light purple/pink streaky rocky accents, getting brighter as it gets closer to the center of the painting. The other has a more standard rocky texture, and is primarily a very vibrant orange with yellow and reddish accents, getting more yellow and bright towards the center. Between the two moons is a stark, black ladder that is connecting the two, perfectly symmetrical, at an angle. The ladder casts a shadow on both moons in opposite directions, adding to the strange symmetry. The scale of the ladder is also unexpectedly large compared to the moons, making the viewer question whether the ladder is enormous or the moons are very small. All of this is cast over an empty, lightly textured background consisting of a gradient wash going from a very deep/dark turquoise color behind the orange moon, to a much lighter aqua behind the purple moon.

4 million words, and so many years later, I've finally reached the end of the Wheel of Time I couldn't have hoped for a more complete and truly satisfying ending to something so complex and sprawling. It was truly worth every braid tugged and every weirdly detailed spanking given.

"We all bear witness to the Heron" 🪶 This was a lil practice piece that I ended up liking a bit, so I finished it up! Wanted to practice water reflections because it's something I always avoid!

A gouache painting, depicting three nondescript ethereal beings, standing on a baron shore in a dark setting, on the left side of the canvas. The shore juts out from the left side of the frame, and is surrounded on the right and below by relatively calm water, which reaches down to the viewer at the bottom of the frame. They are intently watching a heron standing in the shallow water to the right, not wanting to disturb her.

The sky is a streaky, dark, desaturated forest green with stark black and gray spindly clouds. The shore is a deep, dark gray and the water is a desaturated and reflective gray-purple, with lighter and darker ripples to show subtle flowing movement. The beings are all of varying heights, and appear almost as if they are cloaked. Their bodies are created from magenta, blue, white, and an outlining stark black that has been dragged down the canvas towards the shore line. The only notable features they have are floating, beady white eyes that hover slightly in front of their heads, pointed directly and intently at the heron in the water, who is completely flat, bright white, in sharp contrast to the darkness of the rest of the piece.

Last night's quick sketchbook practice I was having art block so I just mixed some colors and started painting random brush strokes with my biggest brush to try and get an idea flowing They kinda looked like sand dunes in a desert so that's the direction I took it 🌄

At the top of the furthest hill there is a very small dot silhouette of a person against the bright yellow and pink sunset. The sand dunes are in a gradient from a very deep red-orange in the distance, to a much more pale peachy color in the foreground. The dunes are made up of huge, wavy brush strokes with the largest brush I have.
