Has anyone in California actually read the text of Prop 38 on the ballot this Fall? It is incredibly sus and I’ve only just learned about it… but happy to learn more!

I don't want a "Smart Fridge" that orders milk for me. I want a fridge that lasts 25 years and doesn't have a privacy policy that allows it to share my late-night snacking habits with my health insurance provider.

I'm seeing a lot of posts about applying for jobs with <insert your preferred funding agency here> as program officers / division directors etc. and I dunno, its so important, but how the hell do you recommend a job like that to someone *right now* - talk about a thankless task... but also, (1/2)

...am I the only one taking note of all the folks that have now started referring to being supported by the "Department of War" sure in the knowledge that once sanity is (somewhat) restored they will all quietly go back to calling it the "Department of Defense"? It's the small things.
