the better engagement on bsky is overstated. the tiny user base and terrible standard discovery features makes clustering around niche interests almost impossible.

i should probably clarify that this has nothing to do with private social networks. permissioned data will likely fill that gap on its own.

people who learn about the things they dislike are good, but only when they learn enough to form a fully coherent opinion. it’s very easy to knee jerk and complain about something you only have surface level knowledge of.
