JFYI, When I say "Recreational Programming" by "Recreational" I mean like in recreational drug use. Not recreating things from scratch. Though both things might be involved. It's up to you.
1. you have large enough eng teams 2. updating dependencies becomes increasingly painful. but also increasingly necessary 3. you have an infra team that can build tooling to deal with the pain the monorepo causes :)
Just the half-ass attention to detail I expect from companies.... 1) click unsubscribe link 2) get taken to a "manage all your spam" page with one little "actually unsubscribe" checkbox 3) confirmation page designers never imagined people would use said checkbox at the end
Some cute cuddling cats for your feed. Civilization is fucked, but let's enjoy the moment C:
something that I feel would help people understand why llms are so terrible at anything is the fundamental disconnect between syntactic proof and semantic truth. llms are purely syntactic ways of organizing information, which has sharp limits and difficulties
Feeling cute, might rent 100,000 cores for five minutes later. (yes, this is my personal account)
Shit, I've experienced this. Most people are not comfortable questioning such fundamental things, because their intuition flags them as obvious. It feels like we're in 19th century and people cannot believe that atom can be divided even further, because "it's obvious" that atoms are indivisible.
Even their subconscious being triggered in a way that requires them to maybe rethink what they've been told about trans identity, gender binaries, or societal 'norms', they shut down to the point of disregarding basic empathy "I don't understand how you feel but I hope you're okay" is lost on us
