The question for the ages, and one I wish I had more opportunities to ask in polite conversation.
TV's 💀🔥firegod🔥💀

💀 Bad taste incarnate. Protein based construct. 🎬 Come for the horror and trash, stay for absurd statements, occult nonsense 🔮, and stuff about whatever it is Gizmo 🐈⬛ is doing. ⚠️ Morally ambiguous, aesthetically suspicious.
Having completed my civic duty, I may now return to more pleasant thoughts of zombie werewolf prostitutes.
So like... what if "The Purge" was Werewolves? OK, but what happens? Well its "The Purge" but its Werewolves. OH! OK brilliant, greenlit, go get the guy what was The Punisher on the phone... #NowWatching Werewolves (2024)
The night is young, the omens are favorable, and whatever happens next will almost certainly require an unreliable narrator.
Happy Halloween to all my bsky hooror friends! Hope your night is spooky and spectacular. Like a Jon Mikl Thor flick!
Yes, it's Halloween, and we should probably discuss that. But are we all just going to ignore the fact that Gizmo found a plastic fork in an old takeout bag two weeks ago and has been carrying it around ever since?
I legitimately do not see why I wound't have bat lights on any otherwise blank wall on an average Thursday in July...
This, but every night of the year.
I absolutely enjoy the artistry of cooking. It's my favorite art form. I enjoy making food & eating it. But if I'm being COMPLETELY honest, my favorite meal is a steak with a side of another different kind of steak and a microgreen salad. I contain multitudes. Most of them are protein slabs.
In case you've ever wondered why I don't attend more figure drawing, despite genuinely enjoying them in theory... During longer poses, my mind wanders. One minute I'm attempting human anatomy. The next, I've apparently opened a crematorium and made Burt sad. Art is a process.
When I was a kid I was always told a Sirloin steak was called Sirloin because at some point in the middle ages a king knighted one as he liked it so much. Largely I believed it. I refuse to be convinced otherwise.
The truth has become apparent, Poe is an alien. An ancient, incomprehensible intelligence. Cosmic horror has never been so adorable

Rapt in Plastic performing “Falling” in the May Chapel at Rosehill Cemetery. An ethereal little communion of stained glass and beautiful ghosts
Made this swordfish with a puttanesca relish for @arundelpouf.bsky.social Because nothing says romance quite like setting a beautifully prepared plate before someone and whispering, “Here is your whorefish, darling.” Bon appétit.
A species of contemporary horror that's becoming exhausting: a film that mistakes having a metaphor for having something interesting to say Yeah, Yeah, tension between desire for intimacy and fear of losing self Defensible interpretation: not the same as an insightful one #Watched Together (2025)
My flimsy pretext for posting this is to remind myself to bring a clean tank top to the gym. When they started selling them there, they discovered a remarkably profitable business model built almost entirely around my inability to remember one article of clothing.
What if cosmic horror arrived not through forbidden books or doomed academics, but a homicide investigation? There’s something wonderfully perverse about watching the conventions of true crime attempt to document the unknowable. It oddly works. #Watched Strange Harvest (2024)

Tonight I cooked for @arundelpouf.bsky.social , who issued a simple challenge: dinner should involve squash or pumpkin. Challenge accepted: Parmesan spaghetti squash, turkey meatballs, garlic-pancetta pomodoro, fresh basil. I always rise to a challenge. Especially when I get to chiffonade something.
A late Monochrome Monday. Another evening spent lifting unreasonable amounts of iron in pursuit of increasingly dubious anatomical ambitions. #Monocromemonday
Today we celebrate Mr. Eddy's impassioned defense of the California Driver's Manual Somewhere between organized crime and vehicular manslaughter lies a sacred covenant of responsible motoring Civilization is a fragile thing. Following distance may be all that separates us from the abyss

Today we celebrate the intrepid watermelon in Buckaroo Banzai's lab. Schrödinger's fruit, placed in a hydraulic press by filmmakers testing whether their producer was still watching the dailies. He wasn't. We were promised an explanation later. It's been 15,406 days. I don't think one's coming.
Today we celebrate that the prestigious Tanz Academy required a sunken room filled with barbed wire. Not a storeroom containing some barbed wire. An entire room devoted to it. Why? What department requested this? Did the academy have a barbed wire budget?
Today we celebrate an entire existential philosophy, delivered by a man wearing a dead python. Cage brings his own outrageous jacket to the shoot. Lynch writes its philosophical significance into the movie. The garment becomes indispensable to the character. The world is better off for it.
Today we celebrate Werner Herzog's decision to introduce hallucinatory iguanas into "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans". A magnificent act of cinematic irrationality, reminding us that the universe is infinitely more delightful when someone disregards coherence in favor of reptiles.
Just sort of remembering all those times when I was like 17 and someone said: "Its just a phase, you'll grow out of it..." Stay spooky my friends.
It's been nearly two months since I've watched a terrible public domain horror movie, which explains this vague sense of spiritual and intellectual malaise. Apparently my constitution requires periodic exposure to beloved childhood characters committing poorly choreographed atrocities.
Going to give some grace because this is a good effort. But: Yes, movie. We have met metaphors before. A premise of recovery starting to feel like annihilation is engaging. Just not sure if the director trusts it, is exploring it, or highlighting it in a textbook. #Watched Backrooms( 2026)
