I bought a pair of White’s Smokejumpers 20+ years ago when I first became a firefighter. I still have them. They cost a pretty penny for sure & I took care of them to make them last. It’s also always a hard day because aside from it being my wife’s birthday it’s also the anniversary of my Dad’s passing…15 years ago tonight. Still miss him every day. He wasn’t perfect (who of us are?) but he was a good father and a good man.
