"The era of Ram begins..." Sony Pictures has debuted yet another new trailer for the massive Indian action movie Ramayana, a religious fantasy adventure inspired by the Hindu legend of Rama. Hitting theaters in November worldwide. We just posted the original Indian main trailer last week, this version is dubbed in English. It's similar but actually features a bunch of new scenes + footage not seen in the other recent trailer (including more of the flying elephant fight - his name is Airavata). Ramayana is a two-part film series & represents one of the most ambitious cinematic undertakings ever from India, crafted for a global audience – including an epic score composed by Oscar-winners Hans Zimmer & A.R. Rahman. The story was first written thousands of years ago and influenced countless stories in all mediums ever since. Watch: A Live Stunt Show Viral Marketing Promo for 'Mutiny' in NYC

Push the button!! Lionsgate debuted a video for a recent viral marketing stunt they setup in New York City to promote the action movie Mutiny (watch the trailer). This is pretty cool! I dig these on-location promos. Mutiny smashes into theaters this August - made by the same action director as Plane. After his billionaire industrialist boss is murdered in front of him, Cole Reed is set up to take the fall for the crime – leaving him on the run as he works to uncover an international conspiracy. Most of the big action takes place on a cargo ship which Statham has invaded. Not only does he want vengeance, he's going to rescue a bunch of people. Starring Jason Statham as Cole Reed, with Annabelle Wallis, Jason Wong as Taran, Roland Møller, Arnas Fedaravicius, Adrian Lester. Lionsgate setup a big red button near the USS Intrepid Museum in NYC. When someone pressed it, a bunch of stunt actors would jump into action and fight each other there for ~5 minutes right in front of them. Awesome! "I just want my sister back!" Sunrise Films & Rialto Distribution have unveiled an official trailer for the film titled April X, an indie sci-fi thriller from filmmaker Michel K. Parandi. He's making his feature directorial debut working on this film. It premiered at festivals last year and will be out in US theaters this September. In the near future, twin siblings Bax & April (Storrie & Krug) struggle to survive at the margins of a hyper-capitalist city where technology quietly governs life and death. When April disappears after trying to protect him from a criminal network, Bax spirals into guilt & isolation. Haunted by visions of his sister, he descends into a violent underworld in search of the truth, confronting the cost of identity, love, and survival. First Trailer for Freaky Thai Thriller Film 'Inherit' Premiering at TIFF

"Did you notice anything unusual?" "I think this woman is not your grandma." Then who is she?! TIFF has revealed a first look trailer for the film titled simply Inherit, a Thai horror thriller from filmmaker Banjong Pisanthanakun (of Shutter, Alone, The Medium). This is premiering soon at the 2026 Toronto Film Festival in their Centerpiece section as a major world premiere. Davika Hoorne (also seen in last year's excellent A Useful Ghost) plays her most magnetic role yet as Woranart – a grandma who's possessed by a demon – in the latest chilling psychological thriller. The film follows a wealthy family whose polished exterior begins to crack when an ancient centipede spirit infiltrates their bloodline. She wants to pass the curse on to her 18-year-old granddaughter, Oui. Always good to see William H. Macy in something! He was terrific in last year's Train Dreams, too. Toby must unravel the town's deep corruption before his career -- and his life -- end up as dead as the missing victim. Yes indeed, it is an exhilarating complete collection of everything from enigmatic visionary Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky. Best known for his early psychedelic films El Topo and The Holy Mountain, this Blu-ray set also includes the sci-fi documentary Jodorowsky's Dune (not directed by him but entirely about Jodo anyway) and all of his recent films as well. He tried to make a comeback with The Dance of Reality in 2013, Endless Poetry in 2016, and the doc Psychomagic, A Healing Art in 2019 – all of these are included in here as well. Legit. Climb the mountain and take hold of "The Alejandro Jodorowsky Collection", a FULL ten film cinematic retrospective of a pioneering visionary." Netflix has debuted their final official trailers for the vibrant anime film The Ribbon Hero creation from animation filmmaker Yuki Igarashi, known for creating & directing the "Lop & Ochō" episode of Star Wars: Visions a few years ago. This will be streaming on Netflix to watch later this month. Her new film is inspired by the "Princess Knight" manga by Osamu Tezuka that's originally from the 1950s in Japan. The old manga follows the adventures of Sapphire, a girl who was born accidentally with the blue heart of a boy, and also the pink heart of a girl. So she pretends to be a prince to prevent the evil Duke Duralumin from taking over the kingdom through his son, Plastic. It was adapted once before into a 52-ep TV anime series by Mushi Production that aired on Fuji TV from 1967 to 1968. Sapphire in this new anime will be voiced by Saya (Lalande). In this film, Sapphire is the princess of a kingdom that no longer exists. Having lost everything in her homeland of Silverland to the calamity known as "Nergal," she wanders in despair until she finally arrives in Goldland. For many years, Nolan was famous for never doing allowing any online interviews – only magazines & newspapers. All that has changed and he has been front and center in the promo campaigns for his last two movies Oppenheimer and The Odyssey. This interview has gone viral online and it's entirely worth a watch. Yiyang Zhuge is a Chinese political theorist & translator who teaches at Brandeis University, and also a PhD Candidate at Boston College. She conducted an interview with Nolan for the Chinese release of The Odyssey and all 17 minutes of this conversation are worth listening to – view the full video below. I love how she pushes back at Nolan, I dig her philosophical questions about language, being the "bard for a civilization at dusk" (yes he definitely is), and Christianizing this Ancient Greek story. And I also dig Nolan's very thoughtful answers to these ideas. Expanding nationwide in October after premiering at TIFF. From writer-director Bassam Tariq (director of Mogul Mowgli & "Bait") comes an awesome action thriller. This seems like a clever Blade alternative after Marvel let Ali go and never made it. Mahershala Ali stars as Latif, a devoutly religious hitman who struggles to balance work, faith and fatherhood. When his wife dies, he embarks upon a desperate journey across Houston, Texas to protect his children, confronting the forces closing in around him – and the beliefs threatening to unravel within. Mahershala Ali called Latif "the most honest and complicated character I've read in a script" during an intro at CinemaCon, stating that this is "exactly the kind of movie I've been wanting to make." Bleecker Street has launched their full official trailer for Victorian Psycho, a wicked and wild horror comedy thriller from filmmaker Zachary Wigon. It's set to slay its way into theaters in September coming up. It premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and received pretty good reviews there (here's mine – it's a damn good psycho film). An entertaining spin on American Psycho but set in Victorian times. In 1858, an eccentric young governess, Winifred Notty, arrives at the remote gothic manor Ensor House. Review: Cretton's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is Spidey at His Best

Another year, another Spider-Man movie. Everyone is back out in theaters watching the web slinger sling his webs again, Spider-Man is still one of the most beloved characters worldwide, it'll be a massive hit – as always. Thankfully it's also a massively good movie. How many Spidey movies are we at now? Officially this is the 10th Spider-Man movie so far, but that's only counting the movies specifically about Spidey created by Sony Pictures – not all of his MCU appearances or anything else. It's the 4th one starring Tom Holland and the first to not include "Home" in the title after the original trilogy made by director Jon Watts (Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019, Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021). Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, his second big Marvel movie after directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in 2021, and he aced this. I'm relieved to say this is actually one of the best Spider-Man movies yet, up there with Raimi's Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. When you let a really wonderful filmmaker like Destin Daniel Cretton make a movie you get something really wonderful. This recently premiered at the 2026 Karlovy Vary Film Festival this July, where it was competing in their Crystal Globe Competition section (though it didn't win any awards). Niki has two jobs, no money, and no time. After a fire turns her life upside down, her children are placed in foster care. Banned from contact, she creates a new identity to secretly stays close to them. When she risks being exposed, everything is at stake... Anna Schinz leads the cast as defiant momma Niki, along with Julia Jentsch, Bettina Stucky, Michael Neuenschwander, and Martina Apostolova. Early reviews from KVIFF state: "The upended narrative tones, speckled with moments of painfully empathetic moments, manages to feel like a blend of Ken Loach's Ladybird Ladybird (1994)." GKids has revealed an official trailer for an anime film from Japan titled The Last Blossom, made by filmmaker Baku Kinoshita as his second feature film. Also titled Housenka in Japanese, the film premiered at the 2025 Annecy Film Festival last year and also opened in Japan last fall. It'll playing in US theaters this August and will be on VOD after thanks to GKids. Watch out for this one soon! A dying prisoner reflects on his final summer of freedom in 1986, when he lived with a woman and her son surrounded by Housenka flowers. As death approaches, one of these flowers guides him through memories of his past as a yakuza. Yellow Veil Pictures has unveiled an official trailer for a film titled Boorman and the Devil, a fascinating documentary feature about an infamous moment in Hollywood history. After directing Point Blank and Deliverance, director John Boorman was offered to direct The Exorcist II for Warner Bros in 1975. The film was a massive failure, critically and financially, nearly ending his career. Years later, cast and filmmakers discuss its ambition and artistic value. This is the story of what happened, why it was an ambitious idea, and the value of taking big creative swings (especially in Hollywood).
