The moose declines in most of their range are perplexing because whenever I see them they look great. They're also inexplicably expanding in Nevada. Although this cow was clearly enjoying some sale or something on the highway shoulder which is a bad idea.
I'm not blasting Emily because I'm sure the wages are out of her hands, but there are janitorial positions and Walmart shelf stocking jobs in Norman, OK that pay more than $19/hr, and they don't require a bachelor's degree with a preference for a MASTERS DEGREE. Do better, University of Oklahoma. 🐟

So there's this dead bird that's been on someone's lawn in my neighborhood for over a week. I jog by it sometimes, chuckling that the homeowner hasn't noticed it yet despite its prominence in the front yard. Well, recently they mowed around it. I guess their yard is just a robin mausoleum now. 🪶
I have a couple easy to grow plants in my garden that I don't really love but they are such heavy nectar producers that I am growing them until I can get all my native perennials going strong: borage and hyssop 🌱
Okay, I lied. One more cactus photo. I thought you might be interested to see this variegated Gymnocalycium mihanovichii from the cheap cactus cart at Wal*Mart. Check out the difference in stem pigment between the flowers growing from different sections of the cactus! 🌱🪴
The oleander aphids are running amok on the showy milkweed. I don't really care because I don't get monarchs so it's just for pollinators and flowering season is long past. BUT there are all kinds of predatory insects out and about. A couple hopefully parasitic wasps appear in this video. 🌱 #invert

The Concord grapes on the side of the chicken coop are coming along nicely. This is the third growing season for this vine, and the first time I've let it set any fruit. 🌱
Okay, one last cactus flower & then I'll be done with them for a while. I didn't even realize this little beauty had flowers until I SMELLED it and that fruity aroma stopped me in my tracks. So delicious smelling. 🌱🪴 This pot is a bunch of cuttings that I will have to divide if anyone wants one.
