Was at a rare book fair yesterday and there was a medieval manuscript on sale for just over AU$1 million. Jack London hand written manuscript for AU$450k. Blew my mind.
In the past 24 hours I’ve been exposed to an absolute avalanche of primordial racism and bigotry, none of it directed at me but it made me wonder how people had the energy to be so aggressively hateful and angry all the time. Also made me think nothing has changed on this front in my lifetime.

Unless you interact with them nobody has a real clue about the 3mm thick glass jaws journalists have. They are simultaneously incredibly angry, unhappy and indignant AND fragile little children.
