Been keeping an eye out for people rehoming ferrets in my area, but no luck so far... There's a "rescue" in the town I live in, but I refuse to support them for reasons I won't delve into here I'm just feeling really overwhelmed by everything right now. Sickness in the house isn't helping
Something I loved about Loueem: no one knew how to say her name Two of my favorite."mispronunciations" were "Loom" and "Loo-um". I loved them so much, I started using them too When Jim went to pick up her ashes from the vet, the receptionist said "Oh no! Not Loo-um!" And it brightened our day

You know that thing opossums do? Slubbing? Jubi does something similar when she's in an extra good mood. She'll shuffle over to me and start rubbing her face on/licking my arm. It's so sweet

Jim is much worse today so I'm going to order some covid tests and other supplies. He's taking a sick day My stress is through the roof. I'm worried about him and terrified Jubilee will catch it
Jim has been sick since Friday and I'm just waiting to start showing symptoms ;__; Did you know: ferrets can catch respiratory illnesses from people? There's some debate as to whether or not they can catch the common cold from us, but we can definitely pass the flu & covid to them!
I stopped drinking name-brand soda a while back. You can get a 12-pack of diet Dr. Thunder for under $4. Diet Dr. Pepper is almost $10. Insanity "You should just stop drinking soda" I should, I should. But we all have our vices... (Jubi walked across the screen and chose that .gif for me)

I love living in the United States. None of us can afford rent or groceries, but look! Dunkin' is bringing back their "beverage buckets". I can't eat lettuce without worrying about getting parasites that cause explosive diarrhea, but at least I can chug 48 oz. of iced coffee in one sitting
Home again! Jubi's first vet visit went very well. The doctor seemed genuinely thrilled to see we'd gotten a new baby Her heart and lungs are good. We got meds for the mites. Everyone said she was adorable
She's very bored and has to poop but refuses to go on the puppy pad (she thinks it's a blanket)
"I'll take my shower at 5 AM. That's 3 hours from now" "Ehh, 6:30. Still gives me plenty of time" "7 is better. I'm always ready too early, then I get anxious" *20 minutes before we have to leave" "Damn, I should probably get in the shower"
