Depression makes life so small: Isolation, fatigue, brain fog, the yawning self-pity that makes it difficult to stretch out to others. I can spend weeks feeling like I'm living underground. It's so strange how getting out of it is to realize the smallness is not your fault. You do what you can do.

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.

Noticing an uptick mss submissions from PhDs who have left academia and started consulting agencies... projects that appear to be advancing scholarship but also feel like they are about establishing trademarks. Somewhat suss.

The fireworks show on the National Mall is going to be an utter flop. We're then going to find out that a convicted sex offender and Trump supporter named John Dud got a no-bid contract for his company, A Flash in the Pan Productions, to put on the show.
