A word of good news: I'm six chapters into this story, so that's something. Very crude work so far, but c'est la vie

I had a dizzy spell. It only lasted a little while, but it still scared me a lot. I had an awful, extremely long dizzy spell a couple years ago that was the worse physical sensation I've ever had, and ever since, any time I get dizzy or nauseous it freaks me out.
Continuing my tradition of finishing a project and then frantically switching between half a dozen others for a half year before (hopefully) settling on one. This most recent existential crisis has landed me back on The Castle Guard.
I'm writing again. I've been so detached from all my creative works, I figured it's best just to start from scratch. Not like I have much at all to make up. Kidnapped Princess WIP starts anew.
Ooohkay, while making breakfast this morning, I was struck by an old-school bolt of inspiration for a new novella/novel. It seems very promising.
#FantasyIndiesJune day 30: Monthly wrap-up Not a whole ton to say. I got decent progress on The Comet of Satyros at the start of the month but have done almost nothing the last 2-3 weeks. I feel myself pulled between numerous projects, with no idea which one I should focus on.
My ever-ongoing map for Captured Princess WIP. Story's been neglected for a while, but working on this has me badly wanting to get back to it. I specifically designed the world to be a playground of fun fantasy-isms. Maybe that's just what I need right now to get out of this rut.
#FantasyIndiesJune day 26: Free Friday I've been writing very little this summer I started a different job a month ago and it's been leaving me with very little mental energy for writing. This past week or so, that's been really wearing at me and leaving me frustrated/anxious and wanting to do more
#FantasyIndiesJune day 25: Is my MC responsible? He unfailingly carries out his duties, but he hates doing it. He was born into his station in life and has no way out.
#FantasyIndiesJune day 24: What story does your MC love to share? If you find him in the right mood you can get him rambling about the equipment he's hand-made: a cloak with a bazillion pockets, wagon with a special frame, weapons with "unique" traits that totally never fail when he needs them most
#FantasyIndiesJune day 23: What do I look for in beta readers? Basically and most importantly, someone who's willing to be honest. If something doesn't work, I want to know. I also love when readers share their play-by-plays: This character SUCKS! Lol! I'M SOBBING MY EYES OUT
#FantasyIndiesJune day 22: WIP Tropes Found family. Blood feuds. False history. Genetic experimentation creating monsters. Ye Olde Racism.
#FantasyIndiesJune day 21: Family in WIP Pravic's father is mildly disgusted at his existence, as are Pravic's older brother and sister. His younger sister isn't, but Pravic pre-emptively distanced himself from her to avoid the pain of her "inevitably" turning on him.
#FantasyIndiesJune day 19: What makes you DNF a book? I generally don't like doing it because ✨Ya Never Know✨what you're about to find, but when I do, it's that I'm just plain not enjoying it and wouldn't be able to finish it by making myself read for an hour or two more.
Fun fact about this book: Draft 1 had it has a 40K novella because I didn't have faith in my silly Chickens+swords idea being satisfying full-sized. But there was so much that felt thin, and thankfully I silenced that inner voice and let the story be what it needed to be. It ended at 66,666 words!
Fowl Blade is free from today to June 21! It's my personal favorite story I've ever published. It's full of adventure and whimsy, danger and despair. Not to mention magical, talking, sword-wielding chickens. books2read.com/u/4NvLv9
#FantasyIndiesJune day 18: Underwriter or overwriter I feel I tend to overwrite details/take too long with transitional prose. A lot of my editing tends to be finding the important parts and shifting focus to them. (if you saw me delete this TWICE to fix typos, no you didn't)
9 people picked this up for free yesterday! Let's see if we can get it to at least 10 today!

#FantasyIndiesJune day 17: How would your characters do on a road trip? They basically already are! They're travelling through the forest in a faulty wagon. They get on each other's nerves a lot, have a lot of accidental bonding moments, and make plans to take down the monsters trying to eat them.
Literally just finished rereading this lmao. Don't miss this chance, grab it

I've made the decision to run a free promotion for Fowl Blade starting tomorrow. If you like free books and/or chickens and/or epic yet whimsical yet emotional adventures, stay tuned!
I really like this one, strongly recommend it
I owe this book a lot. It started as a short story in an anthology created with other #writingcommunity authors when I was new to the scene. I later gave it a second life as an expanded standalone. Without it and the opportunities and connections it gave me, I probably wouldn't still be writing!

#FantasyIndiesJune day 15: Post a happy quote I'm floundering trying to find something to use 😭. All my quotes are either too context-heavy or too short to seem at all satisfying standalone. This story has its moments, but it might be bad to find more simple moments of calm.
Getting revenge on Radahn for what he did to me my first playthrough
#FantasyIndiesJune day 14: Do you like maps in your books? You could say that I usually show off my world maps, but I've done that a million times, plus I haven't updated them in ages, so you've all probably seen them in their present states. So here are more small-scale locales
