To get the movements we needed, @flanavision.bsky.social , @benwolfpage.bsky.social and Ryan took turns to fly the ship on wires while I passed the dolly underneath at high frame rates, there are about 25 takes of that opening shot alone… 4/11

The Dalek Battlecruiser is a favourite of mine and I had actually incorporated some elements of it into the Remembrance Mothership. The model is just under 2 ft as I wanted to get some pretty close passes on it. It was 3d printed by Ryan Wade and built by me. 3/11

Keeping with the practical fx vibe we built 2 new miniature ships for the episode. While the model work in the original is strong, they are fairly under-lit so my focus with the new shots was to add a sense of clarity and dynamism to the opening attack. No reference was available for either… 2/11

We actually had been doing rough tests for the Myrka since early 2024, here's a compilation of tests using a mix of full CG and a silicone hand puppet. I was reluctant to go with a fully CG version as I wanted it to be at least rooted in something practical to feel authentic. 2/9

Pete had shot a bunch of new stuff in England to add to the battles between the sea base crew and the Sea Devils. We quickly realised that we would need to shoot more to accommodate the Myrka chomping people. @flanavision.bsky.social stood in for the sea base guard with props by James Sutton. 7/9
