This is also the first thing I've published since the realisation that I have to publish with my middle name, to avoid confusion with my name-twin, the other Louise Thatcher, who works at the CSIRO & writes a lot about some very cool sounding plant biology I do not understand

guess whose book just got described as "an exciting piece of scholarship", "meticulously researched", "theoretically innovative" & "an important new book" by the publisher's reviewers??

it's really frustrating to me that i have the ability to write a pitch-perfect formal, effective, passive-agressive email in english but i don't have the skills to do it in german
