Had gotten to that stage as a teen where staying in my room and listening to the radio was preferred social interaction. Local FM DJ's at night sure liked this record and sometimes that's all you need in your circle. Tusk era. Thumbs up #vinyl #music #fleetwoodmac music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Don't be fooled, even in the #80's people got the #blues. Nobody like this guy with his high neck tele style and 100ft guitar cable for walking the crowd. Check out Elizabeth Shue jumping onstage with the band in Adventures in Babysitting. Fun stuff #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

To be clear no album cover has been harmed by the use of my old, sad, tour guide clipboard. It's holding down the last important job of a long lifespan but come one "spring" a new board will show up and apply for the job. Until then here's some R.E.M. #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Just out of bootcamp and headed to A-school when this came out. Lost all future credibility when I exclaimed how great the record was but "dude I just don't hear any singles". Was right about part of that statement but maybe follow my advice with caution #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Walked so far from shore, while on leave during a Navy cruise in Palma De Mallorca, there was nothing around but an empty bar playing this album. First time I had ever heard Walking on the Moon. Felt a immediate kinship with the lonely astronaut. #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

A friend was given the new "Don't Bring Me Down" single for his birthday. Was a big deal and we wanted to play it over and over. No! he said, displaying steely restraint. You'll wear it out! Eventually landed on listening once every half hour. 🤷‍♂️ #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Man did this Alan Parsons Project "I Robot" album get heavy play on our local AOR station before it was bought out for a DJ-less country music format. Seems he was ahead of his time with this prediction of automated existence in the future. Super! #music #vinyl music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

By design this album with it's iconic cover can easily be found in your collection so here it is. Seems the music contained within can be divisive among VH diehards. I just thought it was fun and didn't get too worked up about it. Best if played loud #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

As a kid instead of "Evil" Woman it was to my ears "Medieval" Woman. How cool was it blending rock music within historical timeframes! Attempted saving face that she could be both evil and medieval proved an ineffective argument within my peer group #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Not as many folks these days have a bulky trusted stereo system taking up valuable living space and in addition are dedicated to schlepping it around place to place for a lifetime. This recording is a reward for putting in the hard work. Cheers. #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

While giving Austin tours I was sometimes asked what made outlaw #country different from traditional. Kick drum and the "four on the floor" beat was my usual answer but looking high as sh$t on the cover is also in the equation. Great example here. #music #vinyl music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

If jonesing for swirly organ jazz this here is your fix. Rudy Van Gelder recording on Blue Note. Hot stuff. #jazz #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

My biological father was a complete schmuck and out of the picture very early but years later my mother reluctantly handed over his album collection which subsequently introduced me to the fantastic Don Shirley trio. What a strange confounding world #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

This band and their LA cocaine compression sound somehow made it to my red-neck of the woods in summer 79'. I do consider the unedited guitar solo on My Sharona to be one of pop-rock's finest. Album can be found on the cheap down in the bargain bins #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Quirky awesome. Always wondered what it would be like to grow up with singing siblings. Here's what that's like. Produced by Robert Fripp and Tony Levin. The Hammond Song always pulls me out of a sh$tty mood. Melancholy gold. Try it. #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Years ago while visiting the Alamo I came across a sword under glass displayed courtesy of Phil Collins. Wondered if that Phil Collins knew he had the same name as this guy. Seems it was the same guy. Largest private collector of Alamo memorabilia. #music #vinyl music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Occasionally Texas can seem a lot less complicated than it really is. This album is one of those times. Fabulous live recording. In our current time of disagreement play a waltz on occassion. Impossible to argue over. #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/watch?v=nN3K...

Pretty straightforward Sunday record. You could try and say it isn't but it is. Since today we are not arguing about this fabulous Sunday record maybe we can find one something not to argue about tomorrow which is a Monday. Looking at you Monday. #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Oh great Friday Morning God of live recorded music please grant us the wish of an opening track with a classic rock and roll build-up and if possible could you please please have it be a medley? Oh!!!! and dueling guitars, gonna need those! Thanks! #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Had just moved to #Chicago and #sturgill was in town BUT playing a show which coincided with my first day working on one of those Navy Pier party boats named The Spirit of A Terrible Idea or something like that. Put one in the loss column. Sad. #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Don't see this one on the streams but someone took the time to cobble it together so you can find the link here. A fine greatest hits compilation from the early 70's. Heartbreak songs that pull me out of sadness. Thanks #Willie #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

He's from my home state but I probably didn't listen to him as much as I should have because of the thought he would always be around until one day....he isn't. Great album to jump onboard his quirky groovy hip style. TGIF you cool cats. #music #vinyl #jazz music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

This album is actually mislabeled. Was recorded in Oakland. Not as Royal as the Albert Hall but they sure sound like they are enjoying the home field advantage. The RAH version came out a couple years ago and is just fine but this I prefer. #vinyl #music #ccr music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

There has never been a time in my life when Dolly wasn't around. Never owned a record of her's which has been remedied but it's still a very strange feeling. She was something else indeed. What Would Dolly Do and do that. Keep it simple. #music #Dolly #vinyl music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Upon a recent accounting of my record inventory I just realized I have four copies of this Long John Baldry album so be warned! Don't Try to Lay No Boogie Woogie on the King of Rock and Roll or for that matter....me. #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Featured this record not too long ago but here it is again. Had it first on cassette. A walkman and listening to music trying to fall asleep creates powerful lasting impressions. You might just wake up one day sounding a bit like an Englishman. #vinyl #music music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Took a little while to find it, sorry so late for the tribute party. Went to my first Rocky Horror show back in the 80's without any forewarning just happened to be out and about at midnight. Left quite an impression. Thanks Tim and the gang. #music #vinyl music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Late summer reminds me of slow drone #Blues. Thick and beading sweat under a shitty fan that grinds around in a circular fashion. There is good news, it sounds fantastic with an ice cold beer in a thick ass returnable longneck bottle. Yes please #music #vinyl music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Keep it simple this morning with The Ventures. Actually lots of little parts going on but wow they make it sound so simple and exotic and breezy so....let's keep it simple, yet seem exotic while floating on a cool breeze. Got it. #music #vinyl music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Write what is considered one of the greatest songs of all-time and you are granted the financial freedom to let your freak flag fly. "Gentle on My Mind" was his liberation day tune and what a tune it was. Now enjoy some hippie-ass bluegrass. ✌️ #music #vinyl music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...
