I was having a bunch of weird issues with network, especially with my network namespace setup with Wireguard. Turns out it was systemd-resolved being atrocious, and seems like I'm not the only one with issues w/ it. I guess Red Hat themselves don't recommend it for a reason. Switched to dnsmasq. 1/2

Finished the donut tutorial. It was easier than I thought, I like the result. I skipped some parts, as I didn't want to download the guy's addon nor create an account on his site. I disliked that part. Also, Cycles' rendering took a million years, and, like, it used %110 of my GPU somehow, but yeah.

I've been disinterested in almost everything for a while now, including doing things I like and trying to socialise/find friends. Staying awake feels like an active effort in itself sometimes. I hardly wake up, still feel eepy after I do, and high chance I'll fall asleep at some point during the day

9 years since the first feature request and Alacritty still doesn't have ligature support.

While searching for fonts, I've come upon a mono font that has smart kerning called Commit Mono, which is quite nice. I didn't know fonts could adjust themselves? But, apparently, you can even play Bad Apple through them... huh. I guess I never questioned how ligatures work. Quite cool.

In VS Code, the indent guides continue extending beyond finished statements without curlies, which is not great with the standart Rust formatting. I don't know if there's a fix but I couldn't it, and it annoyed me so much that I've switched to Zed, which seems fine so far with AI features disabled.

I've been using Linux for a while now and I've managed to reduce my Bevy (Rust) fresh compiles from 45 mins to 5 mins, which is amazing. There's Mold, 5x faster Linux-only linker, and Cranelift, a faster compiler that I had trouble getting to run on Windows. Development is more stable on Linux too.

I'm new at this and I found squeezing your thoughts into the low character limit to be annoying, yet fun? Sometimes I have to think of synonyms or how to restructure the sentences so that it's shorter, which is kind of fun. You can divide it into multiple posts under the same thread, but yeah

I guess I should try to overcome my anxiety/avoidance or whatever and, just, post things here. Perhaps the first post is the hardest and I'll feel more comfortable after the first couple. I've avoided sending anything online in the last 2 years, so, I guess this'll be one step towards fixing that.
