Was adding SFX to the elevator a high priority task? Nope. Was it the quick win I so badly needed today? Yup. Always keep a couple of quick wins nearby for when you need them most, folks. #gamedev

Just a weirdo making video games. You can find the weirdness on my itch io page as I make them https://flyingfreestudios.itch.io/
Spiderman beating the crap out of a nazi is both the best and saddest thing I've seen for a while. The best because, well, you've all seen it. The saddest because nazis are still a thing in this day and age.
OK, the basis of the arcade machine is there. All you can do at the moment is spin some meat, but there'll be a game there soon. Also get your minds out of the gutter. My mind is very territorial about said gutter. #gamedev
I love playing a game where it feels like you are having a direct interaction with its creators mind. Playing The Binding of Isaac feels like Edmund McMillen is sitting in the room with you. A game should be an extension of it's creator.
Remember the "I made X game in X time" or "I made X game with X experience" videos out there are purely for entertainment. Don't let them bring you down or give you any ideas that making a game is easy. Everyone is different and so is their game dev journey.
Time for me to complain more about Blender.... No, it's my fault for using it once a month, if that. I should really find some fun, cool things that need different techniques to just model each day. Can't get good at something if you don't do it.
I can't help myself. Every time there's dialogue, I need to add Animal Crossing style voices. This time round every letter has its own unique sound rather than just a single sound that I change depending on the letter. How did I do? Feedback is always appreciated. #gamedev #indiegamedev
Hey AI companies, how's that cure for cancer coming along? What's that? You're too busy consuming and destroying everything? OK, cool, and you're still confused why people hate you?
Beauty is subjective, yet society has set an objective framework to which we all measure ourselves. Whether it's art, writing, music, or your own body, you feel judged. Long story short, everything you make and everything you are is beautiful, and screw those who tell you otherwise.
I'm just over a year away from attempting full time game dev again. I've continued to live lean, so I'm ready for that. I've learned to trust my gut when I sense someone is full of shit. Anyone else have any advice on things I should work on to better prepare myself?
Look, I don't know why I'm so obsessed with this at the moment, so I'm hoping one of you guys can watch it and report back. I've already tested the theory that all the skull makeup reminds me of Ghost, but that wasn't it. Maybe the Rammstein crossover? Nope that's not it. HELP!

Building the mundane and learning to appreciate it. Elevators are the new entry on the list of things I will no longer take for granted in video games. How did I do? Rate my elevator. #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev
Ah, yes, this is my post Janurary 2028 Playstation collection display. Quite a sight to behold...
It is criminal that we live in a society where inspiration goes to waste. One can feel immense levels of inspiration and then be told to drop it to return to being a cog in the machine. When you feel inspired grab on to it and don't let it go for no one or no thing.
Looksmaxing? More like whattheactualfuckiswrongwiththesepeoplepleasestoptheplanetIwouldliketogetoffmaxing.
Ugh, at least they are being honest, I guess. It's such a conflicting situation where you know what they did sucked but you also know telling the truth is important and shouldn't be punished. I know devs *cough*Jak*cough* that straight up lie to people about their use of AI.
We will soon have a generation of people that have never felt the pain of finding a post on a forum of the exact question they have that hasn't been answered in 6 years. That pain taught us that maybe we were heading down the wrong path and made us rethink our direction. It made us stronger.
Hey, to all you coders out there. If you share a snippet of code you are proud of or find funny, I will appreciate it and so would others. Don't feel like just because it's not a pretty picture that you can't share it with the world. Code is art in its own special way.
I'm not sure the people comparing AI to the industrial revolution is the flex they think it is.
"Well, at least you are getting paid" is not the correct response when someone is struggling. There should not be a dollar amount that makes someone's suffering OK.
OK, Nintendo, you have millions of people's childhoods with this reborn version of OOT. Nobody wants a stamina system, weapon degradation, or cooking in OOT. Please don't screw this up, and while you're at it, add in a randomizer feature. Sincerely, a grumpy and scared Zelda fan.
OK, new self imposed design rule, 95% of interactions have to be buttons. Need to figure out if someone is clear to enter the building? Scan button! It's a dumb rule, but it's nice to come up with solutions that adhere to the constraints. #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev
We need a study done on the mystical properties of guitar picks. You buy a handful of them, and the next time you need one, they are gone. There must be a dimension just full of guitar picks.
It's Monday where I am and an especially soul crushing one. For those experiencing Monday or preparing for one, I give you Die Spitz: Throw Yourself to the Sword. May it energize you enough to wreck the day in the best possible way. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VB01...

OK, brain, I think I'm picking up what you're putting down. A weird game that revolves around pressing buttons. Billy and the button factory? #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev
There is a whole lot of talent out there, but that doesn't make YOUR talents any less special. Keep that in mind when you see something special and think "my stuff sucks". Great chance the creator of said special thing would probably think the same after seeing something you've done.
Why do I look like an out of work pirate? Because I can, that's why.
Can people stop being nostalgic about the Xbox 360 and how it was their first console. I don't need anymore reminders of how old I am…
Robots falling over and parrots swearing. What more do you need? Well aside from everything else.
A flashlight... with a deep dark secret. I built it using ProBuilder DUN DUN DUUUUUNNNNN! Look, I'm sure I'm not the only person out here using it for more than building levels purely because they still suck at Blender.
