Need to clean up a Zoom chat to make a learning resource? On a Mac? Here is how. Download the chat > open in TextEdit > Press Cmd F on keyboard > Select dropdown next to 🔍 > Select Insert pattern > pattern to remove timestamps '##:##:##[blankspace]Any:' > replace. To remove comments: 'Any:Any' #Zoom

Top-left of TextEdit on a mac after cmd f has been selected. The dropdown next the magnifier has been picked, and 'insert pattern' at the bottom of the menu is being clicked by the mouse.A zoom chat text file shown in TextEdit with the details blurred out. In the top search bar the following search pattern has been entered: ##:##:##[blankspace]Any:The Replace checkbox has been been ticked and the 'replace' text entry field has been left empty. The replace all button is being selected to remove all the occurrences that match the pattern added in the last step.Repeating the same steps in TextEdit, this shows the cmd f > 'insert pattern' again. This time it is to remove the comments and emojis'. The pattern for that is Any:Any.
