Kudos to my highschool and college drama teachers for teaching me warmups for my face! 😫😁😬😲 I didn't become an actor, but I've had to record storytime and now training videos for work. Why does one's face feel like molasses as soon as record is hit?

Me, attempting to stretch out my face muscles.

Idk if this happens to other Filipinos in Oakland. When I'm in Chinatown, people expect me to speak Chinese, but when I'm almost anywhere else in the town, folks assume I speak Spanish. Like I do a little, lot of folks around here do, but "poquito y despacio, por FAVOR!"

Props to @caramiaculpa.bsky.social for gently schooling me on what is about to be my new tea obsession! Yashi Duck Shit is the sheeeeiiiiiit! I got mine %25 sweet and will probably go %0 sweet next time. Also it's Mooooooooncake season! 🥮 🦆 💩 🍵

It’s actually a legit name of an oolong variety! The story is the farmers that cultivated it started calling it “duck shit” to keep people from stealing the tea or taking tree cuttings.

My kid started highschool. I think it's going fine. Her biggest gripe is that her phone is always in the top row of the phone hotel and after class she cannot reach it and some taller kid has to get it for her. If you went back in time and told Teen Me this, I'd be like "Whuuuut?"

Took home Crash Cats, Dream Home and the two Hunt-a-Killer mysteries. But got all melancholy over all the cat games / items I saw today. Did someone who love cats pass away?!?! 😢 🐈 🃏

Rat a Tat Cat, Kittens in a Blender, Crash Cats, Dream Home and two Hunt a Killer mysteries at the thrift.

If I find out someone I'm close with is very dependent on reading glasses, I'm going to stop texting them. 🤓 💬 This post brought to you by all the fools who voice text me, but then call me back as soon as I text then because they don't wear their reading glasses!!!!

Idk why this is such a hot item. Based on one of the pics it's just a regular ol' roll and move game. I got it because it's so cute and we love cute things in this house. But now I feel like some collector should have it!

A Nichijou board game I thrifted for $6. It's being sold on eBay for over $100.

I'm the boss of a teeny, tiny, 2.5 person department. I'm realizing I have to stop saying "I don't know." Even if it's just me thinking out loud and working through an idea. Even if I really don't know. Folks lose confidence in me as soon as I say "I don't know." But what *do* I say instead?!??

Thrifted Cupcake Academy for $3.75 today. It's supposed to be for age 8 and up, but it's hard!!! We had a house rule to both say "Yes, Chef," when we're ready to change cards. This house rule makes it so much more intense! 😂

My teen tossed the pieces around after our cooperative loss in Cupcake Academy by Blue Orange.

These toothbrush covers come in packs of three from Daiso. I love them because some houses don't have counter space, and I don't like putting my toothbrush on the counter at hotels anyway.

Toothbrush cover with squinty, smiley face. It suction cups to the mirror.

Spring Cleaning and Of What's Left were the highlights of tonight's Tricky Tuesday! Tonight solidified for me that I *do* like climbers and shedders way more than trick takers. Should I try Tichu now? But folks who like Tichu, looooooove Tichu and they do not let you forget it. 😳

My first hand in Spring Cleaning.

My fidgets came in! Every public service desk got a sensory kit for folks who may need them. But the gear was too big. I needed things folks can hold in one hand while doing their reading & writing lessons. I notice folks grab their phones & that's hard for their reading tutor to navigate.

String fidgets, Zen Stripes, and Flexygons.

Usually buying new games I think about it quite a bit, before purchasing. There's just so much I can get cheaper / used if I wait on the hotness Introspective Sads after a Memorial this morning = Impulse Buys. I feel good about these though! Local connection & easy to table.

Bandido Alcatraz and Matcha.

When a driver is accustomed to driving big utility vehicles every day, then has to drive a small sedan ... that's when I get the most car sick as a passenger. They don't adjust their style!

These are my fave post con podcasts. Arwen knows that the food / meals shared going to, during and coming home from the con is just as important as the gaming. I've never timed it, but I'm pretty sure these episodes are like 50% about the food.
