I really hate today for the NFL. It’s just a bunch of media & reporters glorifying and reporting on guys losing their jobs. A lot of guys will find work shortly but you have to feel for the bottom of the roster guys who spent all off season and summer busting their ass off who didn’t make the cut.
I really can’t imagine trying to convince myself that this guy isn’t an elite QB because his organization has failed to properly protect him & build around him. AP 2026 incoming.
I know the only thing surrounding him right now is negativity but I was incredibly encouraged by Mannions utilization of Lemon last night. - 41% slot rate - 24% motion rate Exactly what I wanted to see when they drafted him. Looks like Mannion gets it! 🔥

I don’t know if it was the trade for Dalton or it’s just the added pressure of actually being in a camp battle but Tanner looks like a completely different guy this pre season. Not great if the Birds were hoping to trade him or hoping he would be the same quality backup!

Eli said to reporters post draft that he did intend to add size working w/Eagles to ensure he could handle rigors of blocking without getting too large. The organization telling Eli anything but “do not add size, we might even want you to take some off” feels misguided. #FlyEaglesFly

He was NOTICEABLY bigger, substantially actually. They’re setting the young man up to fail making him something he’s not.
Another takeaway… I don’t know what Tanner McKee did to Sirianni but if he genuinely thinks Dalton is a better backup… oh boy. Better pray Jalen doesn’t miss any time. I don’t think Dalton & the 2’s collected a singular first down today.
I know a lot of people are going to be curious about OL. As you can imagine, Lane & Mailata were as close to perfect as you can be, same with Steen. Cam & Landon got beat a few times by big Milt (great player, gonna happen) but when they ran the scrimmage period, Pats DL got absolutely 0 pressure.
That’s it for practice. Eagles defense stole the show and was far away the best unit on the field today. Offense was up and down but ended incredibly well with a 4 play TD drive against the Pats first team defense. (Take the under in every eagles game this year.)
Woolen swats a ball away from Doubs in the back of the EZ. You can’t make this up. I’ve never seen a CB be this dominate in any practice setting.

Second full go of 11 on 11’s and first set of full field 11 on 11’s and the Eagles defense didn’t give up a yard to the Pats first team offense. Actually, they acquired more negative yards with TFLS.
1st pass play of full field 11 on 11 for the Eagles offense is a first down over the middle to Wicks. He’s been eating today.
I hate to admit because FUCK him… not sorry… but AJ has ate Q’s lunch a few times. Just running through his chest and shoving him off. About 90% of routes he’s committing OPI but it never gets called so quite a few catches on Q today.

Outside of design, it’s really impossible for me to evaluate the offense with no Smitty or Lemon in team drills. I can tell you without a doubt, there’s a TON of motion, misdirection and actual thought behind design. I’m a fan. Excited to see it with the starting offense.
