Yesterday I received the proofs for my book. I’m pleased that “Leben und Vernunft: Zum Naturbegriff in der neo-aristotelischen Tugendethik” (Life and Reason: Neo-Aristotelian Virtue Ethics and the Concept of Nature) is scheduled to appear in mid-October. Here’s a preview of the ToC:

This week marks the end of teaching for the summer term here in Halle. I taught two courses, one on the Nicomachean Ethics and one on topics in applied virtue ethics. Next winter I will teach courses on the seven deadly sins and on pregnancy and abortion. Looking forward to that!

I am in Darmstadt today to attend a workshop on the anthropological basis of applied ethics. Tomorrow I will speak on “Virtue Ethics as Practical Anthropology”. Looking forward to three days of informative discussions!

Teaching resumed this week in Halle for the winter term. This term, I am again teaching two courses, one on "Epistemic Injustice", the other on "Philosophy of Disability". The students already seem very engaged, so I am looking forward to an intense and enjoyable semester!
