Following the #SupremeCourt ruling, everyone wants to talk about toilets. The Equality Act, and this judgment, are about much more than toilets. But toilets are important. Sex Matters' latest blog answers the most common questions. 👇 sex-matters.org/posts/update...

“Those provisions were always there, but the Supreme Court has set that out beyond a doubt.” Clear, strong and impressive from Labour's Minister for Women & Equalities Bridget Phillipson MP speaking for the Government on the #SupremeCourt judgment. Great to hear! 🙏

We had precooked two statements: one for a win and one for a loss. We didn’t dare hope the result would be better than 8 on our scale – roughly, an FWS win, but with comments designed to deflect criticism from those opposed to sex-based rights.

Interesting to see the RCOG launching a women's health research priorities project. But baffling that it includes the premises that "not everyone who needs women's service is a woman..." The study is described as about on the concerns of "women and people" Sorry, what?

Times leader unequivocal that right thing to do to is to scrap the puberty blocker trial. www.thetimes.com/article/4f30... Some trials are just not ethical. #firstdonoharm @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social The majority of the public are against medical interventions on children who ID as trans

NHS puberty blockers trial would turn children into guinea pigs

The planned study must be stopped. Puberty is not an optional extra in a healthy human being’s biological life plan

"It’s as if the NHS was planning a trial of lobotomies ... even worse because the test subjects are children. It seems that £10 million of public money is going to be spent on this unethical experiment." ✍️Helen Joyce on the puberty blocker trial 👇 www.thetimes.com/uk/healthcar...

NHS to launch £10.7 million trial of puberty blockers

Puberty blockers were ‘indefinitely’ banned across the UK last year for children identifying as transgender, due to fears they are unsafe and harm development

Good to see @AshReganALBA for raising British Transport Police searching policy in the Scottish Parliament. This policy violates the human rights of the most vulnerable women. Please support Sex Matters legal challenge➡️https://sex-matters.org/take-action/crowdfund-to-stop-abusive-search-policy/

Sex Matters has written to The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to demand that it does more to enforce the 1992 regulations on separate-sex facilities following the tribunal brought by nurse Sandie Peggie.

Sir Keir keeps talking about “safe” spaces instead of “single-sex” spaces. This doesn't reflect the Manifesto wording. To reassure women that they are taking their rights seriously politicians must talk about single-sex services 👇 sex-matters.org/posts/stand-...

Why this is not about “safe spaces” - Sex Matters

Sir Keir Starmer keeps talking about “safe” spaces instead of “single-sex” spaces. He said it most recently on LBC, although he also said “single-sex” when referring to NHS policy on hospital wards.  ...

Stonewall used to insist that refusing to accept someone's "trans" identity — refusing to pretend to believe that they are the opposite sex from their real sex — was "transphobic". Stonewall's definition of "transphobia" has been written into countless workplace policies.

Have any mainstream civil society orgs said anything about the Supreme Court? Either backing Amnesty's intervention or anything else? The integrity of sex discrimination protections and gender reassignment discrimination protection you would think would be important?!
