On a lighter note… Watching Council meetings, it’s amazing to me how many constituents of one councilor have a “daughter unable to attend a dance recital” (due to whatever issue is raised), and how many scooter riders spotted “a few days ago” had a “phone in one hand and a sandwich in the other.”

When @massgovernor.bsky.social endorses Nick Collins & Will Brownsberger, she's making it easy to be unenthusiastic about her #mapoli re-election campaign. She will win because the alternatives are truly awful, not because she is cozy w/ Beacon Hill troglodytes. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/08/05/n...

Beacon Hill’s biggest defender may be Healey - The Boston Globe

Without a primary of her own, Governor Maura Healey is playing defense for Beacon Hill’s most vulnerable Democrats this summer.

A Pulitzer Prize winning Globe reporter sounds the loudest alarm possible with his film, and Nick's response is, "We're not going to do anything differently!" Governor Healey's response? "Great work, Nick! Who cares that you've been completely AWOL, even as Trump pulled $10s of millions in grants."

Governor Healey just endorsed a Senator that has been 100% absent on climate change. I don’t mean 99.9% AWOL, I mean 100%. I haven’t seen Senator Collins attend a single climate-related meeting. Google “Inundation District.” The South Boston waterfront is an international embarrassment.

I've found in my 36 years in Southie is that these questionable tactics are common in Southie politics, possibly more so than elsewhere. The manipulation of words, accompanied by an old school pile-on. The brash insinuation that "we" respect vets and first responders, you don't.

Councilor Flynn is running with a fabricated falsehood that Cohn disrespected veterans. Another abuse of power, with no concern or calibration. Judge for yourself. Below, the entirety of Cohn's tweet, and his credible explanation in today's Herald.

Today’s termination of Haitian TPS is heartbreaking for tens of thousands of families who have built their lives in MA and across our country. We can't lose sight of the human impact of this decision. We’ll feel the effects in our health care system, our workforce, our economy, and our communities.

Regarding future flooding of Southie, Dorchester, Chinatown, Downtown and beyond... Below, some straight talk on climate change, and my strong support for Latoya Gayle. FTR, I supported Senator Collins for over 10 years. Collins has been totally absent re. climate change. AWOL.

The Boston Herald, Councilors Flynn and Murphy, et al., are using their power to trash another Boston resident today, based on a fabricated story — a lie — claiming that the person disrespected veterans. The person, an advocate for progressive issues, never mentioned, or even alluded to, veterans.

Fascinating proposal for a Fish Pier "blue tech" incubator. All for it. My one recommendation based on Seaport history? A transparent, competitive process for tenancy of space. Enough is enough with insiders gaming access to valuable opportunities. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/08/03/b...

From old restaurant to new industry: Fish Pier’s No Name to become a ‘blue tech’ incubator. - The Boston Globe

The site of the old No Name restaurant will become an incubator for companies in the state's "blue tech" economy.

Looks like right-wing MDN picked up on one of my tweets on Saturday. Their readers seem to believe that Americans opposed to mass deportation are "communists" and worse. How soon they forget that their own parents & grandparents were immigrants, many arriving with nothing, fleeing failing nations.

Looking forward to Neighborhood Housing Zoning Initiative as well. So far in meetings, a lot of Bostonians are asking, “how soon can we get this, I want an ADU!” @mayorwu.boston.gov please stand behind the planning dept. to achieve equitable, comprehensible zoning in this city.

Allston-Brighton Housing Action enjoyed talking with @mayorwu.boston.gov at the Rat City Arts Festival about support for legalizing more housing of all types and safer streets. We're excited about the AB Community Plan and creating a more resilient, affordable neighborhood! @planning.boston.gov
