The walk on Sunday to Swaledale was supposed to be to Fremington Edge. However the "Ard Rock" Mountain Bike Festival had other ideas, but the Walk Leaders, Susan & Stephen, came up with an alternative route so it was still a great day out.
Whilst the vast majority of people walk Whernside using the famous Yorkshire 3 Peaks route, we like to do things a little differently. Last Saturday we strode out around to the far side of the mountain getting fabulous and rarely seen views.

Not a very promising forecast for Saturday's walk to Gaping Gill but it stayed dry & there was even some sunshine. We enjoyed fantastic views of Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough & the spectacular limestone scenery of the area & finished at the Horton Station Cafe Bar for refreshments.

Four seasons in one day on last Saturday's twisting and turning route up to the summit of Ingleborough! Not much to be seen from the top but some lovely views of Morecambe Bay, Wild Boar Fell and Ribblehead Viaduct on the way down.

Saturday's Ribblehead Circular began with April showers & finished in glorious sunshine. Along the way we visited a National Nature Reserve, a Saxon Longhouse, Great Douk Cave, St Leonard's Church in Chapel-le-Dale, Hurtle Pot & Ribblehead Viaduct and watched some boxing hares!
