It is a bit of fun to play up the 'peerless champion' angle now and again. If Cynthia has to attend these big fancy-dos, she's gonna wear what she wants. Who's gonna stop her?

It's not like Cynthia is always going full black, full stylish. Some days, it's better to get on some comfortable work clothes and dig into work!

Battling makes money, sure, but... well, they said Cynthia'd get a cut off every magazine sold. Hadn't told her what she'd be wearing, naturally, or else there might've been... reservations.

Cynthia is a 30-something professional Pokemon battler and personality (work) and archaeologist / anthropologist (passion). She is broadly considered one of the most talented battlers alive today, and she applies this fame to mostly be left alone. Some random kid wants a battle? Go do the league.
