Yesterday the @fownc1837.bsky.social gardening team planted the new beds next to the Robson Road gate. Designed by the astonishing Sue Williams who also bought & transported the plants to the cemetery. We are indebted to all the volunteers in the FOWNC Gardening Group for completing this project.

Yesterday @fownc1837.bsky.social hosted the National Federation of Cemetery Friends AGM with delegates from Cemetery Friends' groups across the country. The horse-drawn hearse was supplied by Cribbs. As it was the 40th AGM of the Federation, a special celebratory cake helped mark this milestone.

West Norwood Cemetery is pictured in the distance. From the time it opened in 1837 it was known as the South Metropolitan Cemetery but the name changed when Lambeth Council took over management of the site in the 1960s.

The Visitor Centre @fownc1837.bsky.social now includes Jane Jordan's display on Henry Doulton's 'Lady' artists. Jane will be curating an exhibition devoted to these artists and their work at the Lambeth Archives in September 2027.
