Watching verified real humans doing amazing things is the best part of the Olympics. I will never marvel at something a hunk of code can do. But pair skaters sticking the landing in perfect unison because they've trained their whole lives for this very moment? Now THAT brings a tear to my eye.

“Love Is Blind” x THE STEPFORD WIVES Alyssa attends a singles retreat where, unbeknownst to her, a wealthy man pays a hefty sum to make her fall in love. When she returns home after two years abroad with him, her friends are shocked at just how much she's changed. #QuestPit #Q #A #S #T

Mood board with: two interlocking wedding bands; a pendant with a heart that looks like a computer chip; a push-button computer chip; a gloved hand holding a flaming tube of red lipstick; a "New Messages" notification envelope symbol; a false eyelash; a broken mirror with pieces being picked up by a woman's hands; a woman's head and torso covered with billowing, sheer red fabric; a control room with a high-backed chair and several red computer screens; a woman in a long, close-fitting black dress with several dangling cords around her; a staircase with a woman in a formal black dress at the top and a man in a suit at the bottom, both people with their backs to the camera; fingers holding a broken mirror in which one eye is reflected; and a cocktail glass with cherries in and around it as well as a lipstick- and other red substance-smeared napkin, and a woman's hand (with long red nails, two silver rings, and sheer black fabric covering part of her hand/wrist) holding the glass.

It looks like I've gotten lots of new followers lately, so I'll (re)introduce myself! I'm an agented thriller/horror author who writes "science gone wrong" stories with messy relationships at their core. 🧵 (1/3?)

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

Anyone who spends time with me in person knows that 50% of my casual wardrobe is band T-shirts (Mountain Goats, Indigo Girls . . .). Conveniently, just as these tired, years-old threads are starting to fall apart in the wash, both bands are going on tour near me this summer. Thanks, merch gods!

You know that thing where it's winter and you have lots of little cuts on your hands because of exposure to cold outside and dry radiator heat inside, but the act of opening Band-Aid wrappers actually makes the cuts worse so you need more Band-Aids? Didn't Robert Frost write a poem about that?
