As you can see in the 3rd photo, I'm reading TRAVELS W CHARLEY, I put it 3rd bc it isn't everyday you find a single cowgirl boot abandoned in a Hobby Lobby cart. A Hobby Lobby cart left under a motel stairwell. Makes me wonder that in Lexington somewhere a woman is walking around w 1 cowgirl boot on

This quote hit me with a sledgehammer this morning... "There won't be a revolution here, because the poor think that the next rich person will be themselves." --John Steinbeck

Watching this Ken Burns documentary on Henry David Thoreau. It's narrated by George Clooney, but Thoreau's writing is read by Jeff Goldblum. I imagine him reading Walden just like this...

H.B. to the one&only Harry Dean Stanton. "In the end, you end up accepting everything in your life, suffering, horror, love, loss, hate, all of it. It's all a movie anyway, the whole phantasmagoria. It's all meaningless. There is no answer to any of it. It's just what is. "

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite actors, the singular Warren Oates. One of my favorite artists, hands down. "Heavies are closer to life than leading men. The heavy is everyman -- everyman when he faces a tough moment in life. It's the heavy that has to do with the meat of life."

Ugh, it's going to be in the 90s again. I know by 1-2 in the afternoon my phone will say, "92, feels 103." No My Irish ass doesn't have time for this. I'm so pasty I can lean against your white wall, you wouldn't even know I'm in the room. Perfect camo. I might be in your house listening right now.

Happy Birthday to the wildly original, and easily one of my favorite writers ever, Denis Johnson. I didn't know him personally, but I miss his gift. "Sometimes what I wouldn't give to have us sitting in a bar again at 9:00 a.m. telling lies to one another, far from God."

I don't really use X, but when something goes wrong for MAGA, like SCOTUS upholding birthright citizenship, I like to go on X, find outrage tweets from Kevin Sorbo, Dean Cain, James Woods, Boebert, & mock them, then I shut down the app again. It's the little things that bring a smile to my face

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite musicians, Ray Davies. 3 Kinks albums, MUSWELL HILLBILLIES, LOLA VERSUS POWERMAN,& THE VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY, are on my personal top ten rock n roll albums of all time list "When in doubt, trust your paranoia."

Watched this, probably my favorite movie of 2026 so far. Still 6 months left in the year and good stuff coming like the new Cliff Booth, Wild Horse Nine, Idiots, Digger, a few others Not a big sci fi person, at least not reading wise, but a great movie. It wasn't what I was expecting at all

I finally picked up BUTCHER'S CROSSING by John Williams. People have been telling me to read it for a long time. I saw the Nic Cage movie adaptation a few years ago, it was okay, savage, but overall okay. I didn't even know the book existed until after I saw the film. Looking forward to digging in.

Happy Birthday to the unique & Brilliant, Harry Crews “So far as I can see, nothing good in the world has ever been done by well-rounded people. The good work is done by people with jagged, broken edges, because those edges cut things and leave an imprint, a design.” ― Harry Crews
