@birchtree.me really love your Cleanshot update videos, would you be open to do similar videos for Typefully updates?

Things tip for easy task templates: Have a templates project and put task templates in there, then just create a shortcut that duplicates that task and puts it in Today.
I wonder if AI tools will increase engineering hires instead of reducing them, at least in the short term! The increased leverage AI tools provide to individual contributors is so significant that they are much more valuable. Many companies might accelerate hiring because of this.

I bet you could come up with a graph like this for basically any European country. Where are all these missing entrepreneurs?
Finally done with my 2024 review! At this rate I thought I would be done with it in 2025! francescodilorenzo.com/2024
In 2025, I want to read more books and scroll less on social media. For this reason, I set up a streak to read at least 20 pages per day and uninstalled social media from my phone. Also experimenting with reparable streaks: if I don't manage to read 20 pages today, I can fix it by reading 40 tmrw.
Reading "Why Nations Fail," which argues that a nation's prosperity is determined by the quality of its economic and political institutions. I wonder if the same will apply to Mars.
Speed matters, but hard to prioritize for an existing product. Thought of making Typefully local first many times, but always got pushback from the team because of the time investment it would require.
GitHub is too slow? 150 million developers do not seem to share this opinion...
This past month, I tried going back to Chrome and Safari for one week each, and the situation was tragic. The situation is not good 🧵
What's one improvement you'd like to see in @typefully.com in 2025?
Notion is so much better than folders in Finder for managing taxes. I don't know why I was doing that to myself before. Also, SOPs for managing not having to relearn terrible government UX each time.
I don't want to get too political, but wow, an unrealized capital gains tax seems like the worst idea ever. https://paragraph.xyz/@hagaetc/norway-shrugged
Norway Shrugged 🇳🇴🤷
Recently, my story as a Norwegian entrepreneur facing an unrealized gains wealth tax bill many times higher than my net income went viral, amassing over 100 million views on X. A few years ago I publicly called out that this tax is both impossible-to-pay, but no politician would listen. So I made the difficult decision to leave my home country. I don’t know how I was supposed to pay the tax, but I recently found myself plastered on the "Wall of Shame" at the Socialist Left offices.

On the one hand, I do think that social media is very bad for young people's mental health. On the other hand, social media was instrumental in my journey to find out what I wanted to do in life and to team up with like-minded people to do it from a very young age.

My action button runs a shortcut that turns on DnD for 30 mins. If I press it again it turns it off. Why 30m? Usually enough to get a task done without distractions.
Since we're talking about productivity. My iPhone action button = Send reminder to self. When I need to not forget something, I press the button and send an email to myself. I turned my inbox into a todo list with Spark. Emails (+reminders) are snoozed if unimportant. Something is done 👉 Archive.
It has been a few months since I got back into RSS readers. Paired with using Bsky daily, I am getting some great early 2010s vibes.
The power of chronological timelines.
Traffic from Bluesky's @bsky.app to @theguardian.com is already 2x that of Threads In its first week on the platform & with 300k followers, Bluesky traffic from @theguardian.com posts is already higher than it was from TwX in any week in 2024, where the account had 10.8m followers, but🧵
Cursor indexes large codebases super fast, and it's quite useful when you wonder how an open-source project does something. Just open the project, wait one minute for indexing, and chat with the codebase.
The best thing about small indie teams is that you can lobby them to build the features you want, you just have to make a good enough case for them 🦋
After 10 days heads down coding with @toughyear.bsky.social Bluesky support for @typefully.com is finally here!

The best (and worst, for productivity 😂) thing about handheld devices like the Steam Deck is how easy they make it to play a quick game compared to gaming PCs or traditional consoles.
Got myself a SteamDeck OLED yesterday. Haven't had a console in years, so very excited to try many new games. Currently on my list: - Factorio - Hotline Miami What else should I play? Also, should I get a docking station to play on TV?
The problem with starter packs is that now my timeline is full of strangers 😂
