I love being ‘woke’. It’s much nicer than being an ignorant fucking twat. Kathy Burke

The problem here has nothing to do with solar power. The problem is dedicating huge urban areas to car parking. Resulting in urban sprawl, more roads, fewer homes, car dependant suburbs. 'Better' car parks aren't going to solve the problems caused by creating car first towns and cities

According to data from the Parking Reform Network, an average of 20% to 30% of all central land in mid-to-large American cities is dedicated to off-street surface parking.

Hi @emilykerr36.bsky.social is this anything you can help with please? This is the new, purpose build cycle track / NCN5 at Sanford Lane, towards Oxford. A new, unnecessary, sign has been put up stating that you shouldn't cycle on it. Are you in a position to help to remove this sign?

It's a point I've been trying to make for a long time: there is no good way to meet even 10% of current demand for animal products. They trash the living world, whichever way you do it. If you want to reduce your impact, switch to a plant-based diet. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Given their aims 'Open Roads' has always been an oxymoron. Their vision of an open road was always more akin to the second picture. Open to, and dominated by cars. Imagine spending you time, and personal fortune campaigning for a car first Oxford!

Anti-congestion charge organisation, Open Roads For Oxford Limited, is winding itself up – but with outstanding legal costs of £14,000 still to cover. Earlier this year, the company failed in its attempt to secure a judicial review into the charge. openroadsforoxford.org/campaign-upd...

I was perhaps unreasonably, delighted to have come across the 'Except Cycles' sign. However, these signs must be in short supply as the 'Except Cycles' addition was only to be found at one end 😎 @nathanley.com

Two road signs. One for a diversion. The other is a Road Closed sign, with Except Cycles, printed underneath

Maybe Trump should give FIFA a peace prize for silencing the boos. (Okay rubbish joke, but I made it up)

It's my own fault for looking at Twitter. 'I don't have a problem with trans people, it's trans activists who are the problem' 'I don't have a problem with people of colour, it's civil rights campaigners who are the problem' '...It's the people campaigning for safer and more accessible streets'

Snip of a Tweet from John Stewart.

"What I have a problem with is not cycling or most cyclists but with many cycle activists and their lobby groups."

This chap wants to know what people do in bad weather. The context is if you often use your bike to commute, or as part of your commute. So, what do you do in bad weather (be nice)?

In case you were wondering, if you are invited to a bbq hosted by a veggie... No, it's not okay if you bring your own meat. If you are such a fussy eater that you must eat meat then sit this one out.

The Supreme Court has granted Tower Hamlets Council permission to appeal the ruling that removing Bethnal Green's LTNs was unlawful. We are disappointed, but undeterred. We won at the Court of Appeal and we'll fight this too, but we need your support. www.crowdjustice.com/case/defendi...

Happy days! The 24 hour clock in our car is 'right'. Ie 12 hours fast, instead of 11 - as it has been for the last 6 months.

It's not about the flags, Matthew. This is about a small group of thugs who are traveling around the country in their cherry picker, looking for trouble. They live streamed themselves and took delight at being abusive to anyone who engaged with them.

Well it’s a bit tricky we don’t have lamp posts. I understand lots of people don’t like seeing the flags and I can have sympathy with that. It just doesn’t make it an offence for the police to deal with.

Niche tip for anyone who commutes from Oxford to London, and uses a Lime bike to get to their office... An Hour Lime pass costs £5 in Oxford, and £7 in London. Buy your pass in Oxford and save a whopping £2 pound on your commute
