So Beast of Reincarnation (the first non pokemon game by Game Freak) is releasing today and seems to be getting a fairly poor reception. I'm seeing some discourse online about whether the dev is actually good or if they just caught lightning in a bottle with the original pokemon
Saw a clip of an interview with Christopher Nolan where he says "to be able to identify the mechanism does not invalidate the mechanism" and this resonated with me re: video games because I remember a ton of game critics doing this annoying shit where the more tropes they notice the worse a game is
