I keep beating this drum, but for a reason; most of the information in the world is not on the internet, but most people think it is. We have been told for over two generations that the internet does or will soon hold all human knowledge. This is not only false, it is far from the truth.

My Monday inbox includes email from the Royal Astronomical Society highlighting that Jodrell Banks is at risk of closure. This is both a historic site and a super important research facility. This is one of the few facilities capable of both radio astronomy and radar measurements of space objects.

Against black space, Earth appears at left as a thin white-green crescent lit along its right edge. The Moon, slightly smaller and dimmer, sits at upper right as a matching tan crescent lit on the same side. “it’s reasonable to ask questions about trans girls in sports” was always intended to mainstream transphobia. It’s absurd that people fell for it. Democrats are constantly letting oppressors set the terms of debate instead of just saying “no, fuck you.”
