My author's copies have arrived! It has been huge fun to work on early modern sacrifice with Francesco Quatrini. Thrilled that the book is now out with Routledge in the @emodir.bsky.social book series. Heartfelt thanks to our editors, and to our authors for their terrific contributions.
Are shorebirds just the best birds? Their migrations are among the most challenging of any. And they have the coolest chicks, hands down. #WorldShorebirdDay #PostAShoreBird

Pastries from the Heimische Bakery, Antwerp. OMG. And a bit nostalgic, too.
My God what a ferocious, hair-raisingly good book- absolutely sensational!

At last, the truth is beginning to come out. As far as I am aware only the Byline Times has reported on Orr and the creation of a far-right pipeline at Cambridge. Why did NOT ONE SINGLE OUTLET perform due diligence to check which people were behind the accusations against Arday?
I don't think people understand the extent to which this has been a decade plus long billionaire funded campaign (obviously Thiel is involved). We've tried to ring the alarm about these eugenicists but it is too easy for them to get parroted by the mainstream media. bylinetimes.com/2026/08/18/t...
The landscapes and art forms of prehistory have a real hold over me at the moment, materializing when I am not looking for them: at the exhibition of trailblazing feminist land- and body artist Anna Mendieta, currently at the Tate Modern. And look at these miniliths, from the seaside in Ullapool!

Curious that while MSM is obsessed with #JasonArday the story of another Cambridge academic has been ignored - despite allegations of safeguarding breaches and overseas donors buying influence. @goldbergradio.bsky.social @nafeez.bsky.social @bylinetimes.bsky.social open.spotify.com/episode/3zGv...

Very cool. This is going to sound slightly medieval but I've been thinking there must be some way to embed invisible apotropaic symbols in all those 'this page intentionally left blank' pages
This morning's been all about Willow Warblers with a whopping post-dawn rush of them: for half an hour they streamed through the treetops at the Obs and left rapidly north into the brisk headwind - got quite a shock to walk up to one of our little mist-nets in the CEF and find 33 in it. Fantastic!

The Hebrides are a paradise for birdwatchers: sea, mudflats, machair, heather, lakes, crags and hills. We saw Puffins, Great Northern Divers, Razorbills, White-Tailed Eagles, Arctic Turns and Skua's, but only this cheeky Rook that was after my chips was willing to pose.
This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.
