I found this Berkeley’s Polypore on an old stump while hiking with my cousin. It was on the steep embankment of a lake, which made the angle difficult (unless I wanted to risk getting wet.) There is grass obscuring it in the foreground, but the stump and mushroom are both visible. The mushroom grew in several overlapping (and now, very old) layers, with the crumbling remnants of a stump visible over it. In the background is the sky and telephone wires crossing from left to right.

Which do you prefer? 😀 This is a recent macro photo study I did of Dahlia flowers. I love how it looks like a series of "tubes" which an odd industrial bent about it. To get the shot I used a Vivitar 1:1 100mm macro lens with a set of extension tubes to get roughly 4x life size 📸 #MacroMonday #ECK
