Thank you, CA-30 for giving me the honor of being your Representative in Congress for a second term. I don’t take that responsibility lightly. With a strong Democratic majority, I’ll fight to check the Trump Administration’s attacks on our community and to make life more affordable. (1/2)

You can thank the Trump Administration the next time your airline leaves you hungry and stranded at your gate when your flight gets cancelled or seriously delayed. Unless you're a billionaire or a big corporation, Trump doesn’t care about you or your pocketbook.

New federal rule could mean less compensation for some flight delays and cancellations

Travelers could have fewer options for compensation when flights are delayed or canceled under new federal regulations taking effect on October 19.

Trumpflation is squeezing Americans and this administration refuses to do anything about it. As the co-convener of the @housedemocrats.bsky.social Housing Affordability Working Group, I know that on day one Democrats will pass bills to make housing and basic goods more affordable.

The bipartisan national film tax credit I introduced last month alongside my colleagues is motivated by a crucial four-letter word: JOBS. That means salaries to support families and income that helps businesses flourish. (1/2)

When your life gets wrecked by a disaster, the last thing you should hear from the federal government is: “not our problem.” In Congress, I’m part of a bipartisan team championing the FEMA Act. It would make the agency more efficient and effective at helping communities in need.

FEMA tells states to handle disasters on their own

The Trump administration plans to cut disaster aid in as few as six months and shift responsibility to states, FEMA's administrator said in remarks obtained by POLITICO.

Last year I went to LA County’s Ballot Processing Center to see all the security measures that ensure your ballot is sorted and counted. Whether you decide to make your voice heard by mailing or dropping off your ballot, or by going to a local voting center, just make sure to VOTE! (1/2)

It’s Election Day! Come with me to LA County’s Ballot Processing Center to learn how your ballot is sorted and counted. No matter how you decide to vote tonight, just make sure you make your voice heard.

Learning from and working alongside Dolores Huerta was the greatest honor of my time in the Legislature. I’m heartbroken by her passing. She was my partner on the bill that finally got paraquat off California’s fields. She testified for it at 94 because farmworkers were being poisoned.

If you haven’t seen one of Robert Vargas’ larger-than-life murals, then you haven’t experienced one of the best artists in the area. The Burbank community celebrated the unveiling of his newest local creation at a great block party this past weekend, right here at the Burbank YMCA.

The most recent study on the offshoring of film and TV production jobs paints a grim picture of what’s ahead for the industry we fail to act. That’s why I’m helping lead a bipartisan group of my colleagues and labor unions to rally around our bipartisan national film tax credit bill. (1/2)

U.S. share of studio TV spending fell from 94% to 64%, unions say

A study commissioned by Hollywood unions finds the U.S. share of major-studio TV spending fell from 94% to 64% as Congress weighs a film tax credit.

Hollywood isn’t asking for a handout. We're asking America to do what it does best: 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞. I’m working around the clock to get this bill passed so we can bring back the jobs we’ve lost to the 65 countries which offer filming tax incentives & keep American investment where it belongs:

Honored to receive an award from Social Compassion in Legislation (SCIL) and the legendary Priscilla Presley for my work to protect wildlife and pets from the cruelty of humans. In the Legislature, I worked to preserve habitat and prevent inadvertent poisonings. (1/2)

The real stars of Hollywood are the production workers who build the sets, hang the lights, and keep shoots running. I was proud to stand alongside them to voice how important this jobs bill is for our local economy. Let’s get this passed and bring production home.

Spent some time talking with the young and bright leaders of tomorrow – our local Girl Scouts! As a Girl Scout mom, it gives me so much hope to see young people engaged in our democracy.

Hollywood has the best crews, soundstages, and post-production houses. It makes sense to keep filming here, but right now America is not competing for film and TV productions. That will change with the bipartisan film tax credit that I helped introduce last week. (1/2)

Proposed legislation aims to bring "Hollywood home" by way of a national film tax credit

"I am here to tell you that we have never been this close to getting a federal tax credit passed. Never been this close," Senator Adam Schiff said, noting that there is bipartisan support, including the support of the White House.

Today marks the 54th anniversary of the passage of the Clean Water Act. Every American deserves access to clean water, free of lead and forever chemicals. I’ll continue defending the right to clean water for all our children and families.

This morning, my district office received an envelope containing a suspicious substance. Out of an abundance of caution, and under guidance from law enforcement, we evacuated. We will continue our work serving constituents and will be back in the office when responders tell us it is safe to return.
