Repairing the bell mechanism at St Philip's, Caerdeon, Gwynedd

Despite falling into ruin in the 19th century, and almost being demolished in the 20th century, this medieval church still hosts a service every year. 1/10

St Tyfi's church, Llandyfeisant closed for regular worship in 1961 and now it is officially designated as ‘At Risk’, suffering from severe decay of the roof timbers, invasive vegetation and defective drainage. 1/9

For most of the medieval period there weren’t actually benches inside churches and a small detail at St Mary's, Tal-y-Llyn on Anglesey alludes to this fact. 1/9

We need your help to save two remarkable Victorian churches that are at risk of being lost forever.

Skilfully produced by one woman over several years at the end of the 19th century, the woodwork inside St Beuno's, Penmorfa, Gwynedd is both intricately detailed and emotionally powerful. 1/9

Despite its curiously tall tower, this medieval structure wasn’t a parish church in the medieval period, instead, merely being a Free Chapel. 1/8

A magnificent piece of medieval craftsmanship, the late 15th century roof structure of St Brothen's, Llanfrothen stretches over 70ft in length and carries nearly 15,000 slates. 1/7

St Cynhaearn's, Ynyscynhaearn is a complete late-Georgian estate church located on an former island in the now-drained lake of Llyn Ystumllyn. 1/8

When St Doged's, Llanddoged came into our care in 2025 it was in need of significant repairs. In particular, the slate roof, the rooflight over the pulpit, the woodwork, and the painted canvases required repair and conservation work. 1/11 📷 Before Repairs

A medieval effigy lies on the floor, beneath a simple Gothic canopy, inside St Decumanus's, Rhoscrowther. The name of the person that this effigy commemorates is unknown, having been lost to history. However, we can speculate… 1/8

In 1813, it was claimed that one thousand people could be seated inside Old St David’s, Manordeifi in Pembrokeshire. 1/11

The polychromatic tiles on the roof of St Giles's, Tadlow are a delightful contrast between old and new. However, although it looks beautiful today, until a few years ago, the roof of St Giles’s was covered in moss and required significant repairs. 1/10
