I know I'm in the minority, but The Odyssey (2026) was dull and uninspiring - visually and stylistically. The whole point of the character is that his journey forces him make unheroic, selfish choices that twist him out of recognisable shape. Instead, we got a post-Iraq Sad Veteran hero plod.

I definitely don't feel national pride, but I also don't feel national shame either. I don't feel any connection to the abstruse collection of abstract, comforting, coddling mythologies that we call nationhood. I am proud of my family, my community, my class. Those will always be more real to me.
