Ex bike racer but now a bikepacker, fly fisherman and short order cook for my kids HS mtb team. Also a taxi driver for my kids sports. One half of the famed #BelgiumPharmacist brewery….

When you’re supposed to go out for a 2hr Zone2 ride and the fellas show up and it turns into a 3.5hr Zone3 ride…you just roll with the punches. But it was all good cause today was New Bike Day! Also preparing to pin a number on again…which is just crazy talk yet here we are.

Got our first 2 days of skiing in. Now my pass price is down to $250 a day. Today was also onsie day. This usually happens over Christmas break but the snow has been horrible the entire season so this was the day. A Christmas Story bunny, Grogu and a Llama meet in a bar…

Today we celebrate The Epiphany! As the story goes, the three wise men have found their way to Bethlehem to bring gifts to baby Jesus who is also baptized. And with this, the holiday season has come to a close…

If prosecuting narco terrorists is a high priority then why did President Trump pardon the former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez who was convicted and sentenced for 45 years for trafficking hundreds of tons of cocaine into America?…Make it make sense please. It’s about the oil&minerals

Well the first bike trip of the year is cancelled. Hard to ride fat bikes at 10k feet in the snow…when there is no snow. A bit worried about Fat Bike Worlds now since it’s also in Leadville. Buddy of mine has been riding his moto in that area this week.

Seeing this in the theatre was cool…the audio options, big screen screams at times and hearing the emotions of others. The movie theatre concept isn’t dead, you just have to give people something they want to watch and be invested in. #StopTheRemakes

Finally finished up Season 5 of @strangerthings.bsky.social and we have tix for the final tmrw morning at the movie theatre. All shows at this point are sold out for tonight.

There are 8 congressional districts in CO, split down the middle R’s and D’s. There are 64 counties in CO with 40 of them won by Trump in 2024 election. Granted the front range of CO is Blue and popular, but to say he has no representation or can’t win here is laughable.

Day 13 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. Couldn’t let this one not be included. De Dolle Stille Nacht, brewed by Oerbier and very hard to get in CO. Bought this one at The Sovereign in DC last summer. 12%, no head, sweet throughout the swallow and a full of flavor. Merry Christmas!

Day 12 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. Delirium Noël is a great finishing beer for this advent. Amber color, fruity flavor once it starts to breathe and warm up. But who don’t love a pink elephant wearing a Santa hat? Even the big elephant made an appearance this year at Denver Belgium Beer Week!

Day 11 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. A 2021 Straffe Hendrik Xmas Blend. An oak aged quad that is smooth at 11%. This beer is aged in either bordeaux, rum or calvados barrels then blended with a younger quad before another fermentation happens in the bottle. Truly nectar of the gods….

🚨🚨NEWS FLASH🚨🚨 Race bike that was last used in 2013, when I was 43…doesn’t fit in 2025 by yours truly with old man back issues. Reach is to long, stem is to long, steerer tube is to short, gearing is to big, angle is to low….that ride was a shit show today.

Day 10 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. Originally brewed only for Christmas, Stella Artois, brewed in Leuven, is now seen year round. A Pilsner that is golden with a light fluffy head that’s easy drinking. The glass has a star in the stem since Stella is Latin for star.

Day 9 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. The weather was good so this became my bicycle trail beer. St Bernardus Christmas Ale. 10% love of the greatest works that monks have ever done. For some reason in the US, 4pk of cans is $10USD cheaper than a 4pk of bottles. They can never put out a bad beer!

Day 8 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers and this one that I’ve never heard of. De Ranke Pere Noël. A carmel colored, fluffy head that is hoppy! An unfiltered and unpasteurized ale. Not something you get from Belgium normally. Brewed in Dottignies, southern Belgium in the Wallonia region.

Bild

Day 7 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. La Chouffe N’ice. A dark 10% holiday beer brewed with spices and gives you the warm fuzzies on a cold night. You can always count on the Gnomes of the Ardennes to create something good.

Day 6 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. Just happens to be another De Halve Maan product. Straffe Hendrik Brugs Quadrupel Ale 11%. Opening in 2016, was a 3K pipeline from the brewery to Zee Brugge where the bottling plant is. Another amazing wonder of the Belgium Beer scene…

Day 5 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. Bruges Zot, zot is Flemish for Idiot or Fool. A top fermented beer from De Halve Maan located in downtown Brugge. Served today in my Brugs Blond glass that I got on our honeymoon back in 2003. De Halve Maan has been around since 1856.

Bild

Day 4 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. The gateway beer for most of us. Duval is the OG Belgie. Blond strong ale, big foamy head and they offer some of the craziest painted glasses around.

BildBildBild

Day 3 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. Maybe the coolest Belgium glass to have, Kwak! A big strong amber beer with malty flavors, a hint of spices, carmel flavor and sweet after taste. This was part of last years Christmas present that is just getting used.

Bild

Day 2 of the 12 Days of Belgium Beers. A second year collab from St Bernardus and Weihenstephan. Kombine is unfiltered Helles beer, full bodied blond. Not an easy find here in the states. Had this in June at Belgium Beer Weekend here in town on draft. Knew then, I had to have more.

Bild

Today starts my 12 Days of Belgium Beers. Of course you have to start with St Bernardus Abt 12 on 12/12 day. I don’t have this one often but I do love the full flavor that it has…
