Last weekend I bought some shorts at the thrift store as a "goal" to try and fit into by the end of summer. Well, I should have picked a larger goal, because I tried them on yesterday and they FIT. I haven't been this waist size in almost 20 years. I'm stupid happy.

These things are pretty damn neat and are a must for anyone that still uses "retro" consoles but may not have the original power adapters. Being able to power your systems with a USB-C connection is a godsend! misteraddons.com/products/con... Thanks @boof.dog for turning me on to these!

Well that was fun. While on my way to getting something for lunch, someone got into an accident in the opposing traffic lanes. My dashcam happened to capture the incident, so I circled back after grabbing my lunch to give my contact info so i can provide the video if they need it.

You know what, I'll jump on the #tummytuesday bandwagon. This one is from a few months ago, and I've lost a little more weight since this picture. I've been feeling good, and I hope after my injury heals, I can keep pushing myself to lose more.

Finally going to be seeing a doctor about my knee injury on Wednesday. It's only taken almost 3 months to finally get an appointment with a doctor that isn't more than 45 days out. I'm really hoping I'm not screwed for waiting so long and letting it get worse.

I really, really do appreciate the fact that I have very generous flexibility with my time off at work and that I have job security within the department. But sometimes, I'm also reminded that those perks come at a cost. Today served as that reminder.

Around 4 am, I was startled awake by a nightmare. I don't get those often, but it was bad enough where I woke up in a screaming fit that woke up my wife as well, who then had to make sure I was ok. Already starting off the day on a rough note. But regardless, back to the office after a week off.

The art of the "cheap" Las Vegas buffet may be dying... But there are still some hidden gems out there that still give a damn good bang for your buck. And the food doesn't suck.

Speaking of casinos, I didn't do too shabby in the casino last night. I stayed up WAY too late, but after playing for almost 3 hours, I came up ahead! Definitely enough to cover my trip expenses so far!

Exactly one year to the day, I tested once again on the grand stage in Las Vegas. This time for my third degree brown belt. It was a long test, but it was a fun one. I did have some hiccups, but I pushed through the challenges. Next stop ... Black belt!

Trying to study one more time for my belt test tomorrow. Thankfully I've been on the grand stage once before, so I'm not worried about that. I'm more concerned about my knee injury slowing me down. Either way, we're in the last stretch! #karate

While packing for my trip to Vegas tomorrow, I came across some swim trunks I bought like two years ago. Despite the tag saying they were XXL, they definitely were more of a L/XL. They obviously didn't fit when I bought them. I just tried them on. They fit. A tad snug, but they fit!!!

This is sad. My lead #karate instructor recently had to move his studio because the gym he ran classes out of lost their lease. He just moved into a new space in a business complex maybe two months ago. Now, he's being forced out again, this time, by the neighboring tenant

The restaurants around AC will be INSANELY BUSY today!! So after you finish your meal and pay the bill…BOUNCE!! Hit the bricks! Leave! If you stick around and yammer with your friends, you’re being inconsiderate to both restaurant staff AND people waiting for a table.

Good Gravy! On CBS mornings, Nate Burleson just did a 90-second piece on the "death" of Playstation's physical media coming in 2028. While some may not *fully* agree with his sentiment, his delivery and comparison to the death of the "Blockbuster Era" was pretty damn well done.

It's not even 7 am, and work is already stressing me out. Big player in today's very important meeting (that's been planned for weeks now) is not able to come in. So everything is going to fall on me to lead, and I'm *not* prepared for that. I can't keep this up...

By the way, I'm going to try and start tagging my martial arts related posts with the #karate tag. I've come to notice that some of y'all aren't really keen on seeing me rant about those moments, so this way, with a tag on them you can freely mute. OR, if you want to focus on them, there's a tag now

The big annual Belt Test and Karate Tournament is next week. I've been doing my best to stay on top of my training along side my day job, my teaching at the studio and my home life. I'm sad I'm travelling solo this year, but maybe that'll help me focus on next week's events. #karate

Yeah, called it. Was able to play Star Fox for about 20 minutes before something came up and I have to run some errands that are time sensitive. *Sigh* Oh well, I've waited 10 years to play another Star Fox game, I can wait a few more hours, I suppose.
