I've been out most of the day so I wasn't sure I'd be able to get to post for today's #BirdOfTheDay theme of #RedOrDead (red in the shot but not on the bird or a photo of a bird on bare winter branches), but I think I have a bit of time to show off this cute wood pigeon in a dead tree.

How do I choose the #BestofJuly for today's #BirdOfTheDay theme when I had such a memorable July & so many great captures. So I'll just choose one I almost missed. I was walking thru a foresty trail & got surprised by this little one in the bush right beside me, close enough to reach out & touch.

The other day I found this robin in a bush that stayed in one place for a short photo shoot, and I'm so glad I get to share for todays's #BirdOfTheDay theme of #OverTheRainbow, (any bird looking skyward) and #HedgingYourBets (any bird in a hedge or bush).

I've been itching to post this Heron photo that my partner said looked like a person cosplaying as a bird or vice versa. So I'm happy that today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #YourChoice and I get to share.

This duck was sitting above the water on what I think was a bike that was thrown into the pond. I hate seeing trash in their environs, but I suppose they're making the most of it. Anyway, I hope this duck fits today's #BirdOfTheDay themes of #MultiColour and #DucksOutOfWater.

I was just in Galway where we saw this lovely #Cormorant diving and then sunning their feathers on a rock. And I'm so happy they fit Alan's #BirdOfTheDay theme for today, #CHE (cormorant, heron or egret). Yay!

Today's #BirdOfTheDay main theme is #OneTwoThreeFour, (4 photos with 1, 2, 3, 4 birds, with each photo being the same bird/s) and I chose the corvids that beg for food at one of the parks I like to visit.

I like how fluffy and soft this magpie looks; it fits today's #BirdOfTheDay theme, #TantalisingTextures (smooth soft feathers of any bird contrasted with rough hard surfaces).

For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme of #Gulls, I have to show off this snap. It looks like the seagull is menacing this little egret and it just cracks me up for some reason. The gull reminds me of Godzilla menacing Tokyo.

These three sweet ducklings are perfect for today's #BirdOfTheDay theme of #Triplets, but I also had to include another snap of three mischievous rooks who looked like they were up to no good lol.

Yesterday on my walk I spotted a wood pigeon nest with a scraggly little chick inside and one of the parents keeping a close watch from another branch. These two certainly fit the #ScreenFiller theme for today's #BirdofTheDay.

I caught two seagulls flying in for today's #BirdOfTheDay theme #SingersAndWingers. They almost look like they were playing tag.

I caught this blackbird scrounging up breakfast in a field of flowers for today's #BirdOfTheDay theme #Birds&Flowers.

I just came across some ducklings yesterday and this little one would not turn around for me, which is on topic for today's #BirdOfTheDay theme #ButtShotts as well as the alt theme #OpenBeaks.

I'm still learning how to capture motion without it turning into a blurry mess so I don't have anything for today’s main #BirdOfTheDay theme #WildMotion, but I do have a couple #peekaboo shots for the alt theme.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #BestOfJune26, and this photo may not be the best quality (I'm new to photo-ing), but it's the one I'm proudest of. I was so happy I caught this jackdaw telling off their friend, especially because they were moving so fast.

I'm having too much fun taking photos of birds. So for today's #Birdoftheday theme of #GreyDay (alt #ShowingOff) I'm sharing this cygnet sitting with their mama. I'm beyond happy with my new-to-me camera and feeling lucky I found a good used camera that so far seems to have no issues!
