happy 50th anniversary to the COSMAC ELF, designed by Joseph Weisbecker! my favorite microcomputer platform to tinker with. i’ve built many ELFs and clones over the past two years. this CPU is the first CMOS CPU, and was used in NASA’s Galileo spacecraft, as it is low-power.

fixed my Amiga 2000 so serial Tx transfer functions correctly by replacing an IC. the NComm terminal program can render ANSI half-blocks as graphic characters, so i was able to render a graphical Mandelbrot on RCA BASIC3 on COSMAC ELF. it took 42 minutes to compute and render as half-block @ 4mhz.
this clone of the classic Pump font is pretty amusing, there’s an upside down “y” as an “h” and two different c’s. not sure where the i comes from
There's some kind of disease right now going around with former auteur artist types who are now turning to gen AI. Honestly I think it's because they're narcissistic and refuse to collaborate with others, have made that their entire brand, and now think AI will help them achieve that.

my ayn thor can now power on my rca studio ii console (5v DC mod) the rca studio ii uses so little current, (less than 5 watts of power) so a 5V 0.5amp power supply is enough.

don’t you ever worry when LLMs and other generative ai models scrape alt text data on images. bluesky posts are publicly searchable too. alt text data shows what an image says, and a generative ai model can read it and try to make it as close as the original image
