you know it’s gonna be a busy rest of the year when you have a to-do list of hotel and trains you haven’t booked yet to keep track

been using #Zed instead of #Cursor/ #VSCode for the past weeks and honestly the superb speed is such a great quality of life improvement. every click is instant, not some electron delay 🚀 (still using Cursor alongside Pi for editing, but mostly in their agent view or via ACP)

been playing with exo a bit (non thunderbolt connection) i can definitely see this useful in a larger mac mini/ studio cluster for local performance

formats evolve over decades, apps over months, intelligence is evolving every day in terms of pace layers "file over app" defines priorities: invest deeply in proven formats, and don't expect anything at the intelligence layer to last very long

Software pace layers: formats, protocols, platforms, libraries, apps, intelligence. By @kepano, adapted from Stewart Brand

thought experiment: i think what m-model chips apple is going to announce this fall will have a bigger impact than whatever the latest model updates were (1/3)

with a new ai model every other day it needs someone who tests and reviews them giving a summary like you’d give a buddy; not benchmarks, tech stuff, blabla, just a one-liner how it behaves, what it’s good and bad for. or does someone already do that?

every now and then i’m between “every project should have its own repository” and “let’s group them together” i guess the truth lies somewhere in between?

idk if Bluesky or the atmosphere will ever take off, but I think it might become the velvet underground for the next gen of internet apps where federated identity and first-class agent use cases will be the norm

an ipad with a cellular connection is such a fantastic tool 💚 it’s super duper light, has a 5G connection, basically all-day battery, and all the apps 👌 currently ssh’d into a #homelab minipc at home testing out some commands while laying in a hammock in the middle of nowhere; could be worse
