The Anywhere-on-earth (AOE) timezone is confusing. I'm pretty sure the 11:59 pm has passed some where on earth, does it imply that "11:59 pm has been passed AOE"? Or will it pass when 11:59 is passed all over the earth? My intuition is that it should be modeled as a fuzzy number but just a hunch
I had forgotten how consuming it is to learn a new software framework/library. I don't know if it worth anything in the era of AI agents, but I can say, it never was just about the end product anyway :-)
Good news everyone… NINeS will return in 2027. We will announce more details shortly, but papers will be due on August 6, 2026 (AoE). Please send us papers describing your exciting new ideas in networking and systems!
The call for papers for the eBPF'26 workshop is open: ebpf.github.io/2026/cfp.html. This year, the workshop will be hosted by the SOSP conference, the top academic conference in OS research! The deadline for submissions is June 19th, in just over 4 months.
SOSP'26 published the list of accepted workshops for this year: sigops.org/s/conference...! Looks like the #eBPF workshop is in good company, in between HotStorage and PLOS 😄
I had a great time watching @nines-conference.org presentations and talks with colleagues at Polimi and had a great and insight full discussion. I'm thankful both to great friends and NINeS organizing committee

As of 18:45 UTC (10:15 PM local), traffic to Iran has stopped as the country has completely severed itself from the global internet.
Iran has almost completely disconnected itself from the global internet. Just after 16:30 UTC today, traffic volume into the country began plummeting. The country has been gripped by growing protests in recent days & the Iranian govt has been selectively blocking internet services. #IranProtests
Contribute a recorded talk to NINeS! We are soliciting per-recorded videos that are up to 15-minutes long. Find details about topics at nines-conference.org/cft. We are excited to see what you come up with!

This was a very nice guide on what should happen during an artifact evaluation. I see conferences linking to different pages in their guide; maybe also add a link to this page. I Thank the author/s sysartifacts.github.io/sosp2023/guide

Looking forward to find a time to follow this. But there is a question that jumps to my mind occasionally. Can we not have provided an interface for kernel extensibility that ran in userspace with good performance?
Justin Ngai presented a BPF regex engine to be able to match file paths and command lines in the kernel. He explained how it works, its limitations, and some of the challenges involved. #LinuxPlumbers Recording: youtu.be/n0xMU3XkXYM Slides: lpc.events/event/19/con...

NINeS @nines-conference.org is the first conference specifically formulated to combat stale ideas, reviewer fatigue, and shallow program committees. By stimulating the community's collective creative pathways, NINeS will help restore energy, imagination, and genuine dialogue in networking research.
We are getting closer to the NINeS deadline (October 1). Watch Scott talk about why you should submit your work to NINeS!
