Pride is important because someone tonight still believes they’re better off dead than being themselves. No one should feel ashamed for being who they are. Everyone should feel safe and secure with their body, sexuality, mental health, relationships, and other identities.
When I came out, my mother cried all night, I felt like shit and we had a party the next day, she didn't spoke with me during that day and our relationship has been hard since, she slowly has accepted it, but the feeling of having to hide it among family still exists, no one should feel that way
